good stuff - tbh, I felt Trigger left a bit more life in the drums. Silencer chokes up a little too much maybe

Yeah, I mean I guess it can be adjusted but my points stands. Why would you buy this if you own trigger?

Good point Oliver and agree with your assessment. I use Trigger for gating real drums as well. However, I was accused of adding samples to drum mixes just because I used Trigger as one of my inserts being used as just a gate. How ironic indeed! In any case, I have both, and yes I use both in some extreme cases. I was wondering if anyone else in the YT world would have noted some of the similarities. This being said, price can be a factor as well between these two.

Price can definitely be a factor but as I say, most guys who do music as anything more than a hobby already own trigger so dropping the dime on Silence isn’t really a benefit to them! New and shiny doesn’t mean useful!
