The chitlins took me out! 😂😂 For real tho ... I’ve watched my great grandmother clean and _clean_ them things, pull of the membrane and cook these things outside in her cast iron pot with a mixture of seasonings I couldn’t tell you and the smell was still pretty damn stout. I will never try any because I *cannot* get past that smell! Thank God my great grandmother never put any on my plate because I knew I would have to eat it!

I’m married to a black man and the first time I ever saw chitlins was Thanksgiving at his family’s (I’m from Chicago). We were all standing around the buffet table saying grace and of course, I was in front of the chitlins on the table. Black people don’t say grace quickly. Everyone gets to add to the prayer and that shit could go on for 10 minutes. I’m just like Gary...couldn’t get away fast enough. 🤢🤮 The next day someone was reheating leftovers in the microwave and I am not lying, that smell never came out, even after a year. Makes me gag just thinking about them.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M NOT ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chitlins are disgusting🤢🤮. I know white slave masters gave black slaves barely enough food to feed their families, and chitlins was the scraps that white slave masters didn't want so they tossed it out and black slaves were starving and had no other options. I do wish we as black people stop eating chitlins and pig's feet. Alot of people think slavery is over and it's no more, nope it's still here. Slavery just adapted to this era.

Just like tripe. It always pisses me off when people say tripe is disgusting, like, yeah bitch- steak would be disgusting too if you just threw it on a plate with the fur still attatched. Learn to prepare food before complaining about it.

As a youngster, the first time I smelled chitterlings I walked right back out of the house. My oldest sister tried to give me some, I told her if anything smelled that bad, no thank you. Have never tasted them in my 57 years on this earth. More for you chitterlings lovers. You can have all you want.

Ok...first of all..I DEMAND sweet potato pie. Patti Labelle and I are gonna have a conversation because I am now addicted. And candied yams my mom saw a grandma making her candied yams. Jeeessuuuusss. And this grandma said "My pie is better than Patti LaBelle's"!!! If there was a way to have an IV and put candied sweet potatoes in there I would be in a diabetic coma. So I can gorge myself on the main stuff, feel like I'm gonna throw up, but I see the pie....it's about to go down.

I know a Asian restaurant that have pig intestines aka Chitlins on their menu. It tastes great. They make it hot, they mixed it with a little ground beef , and lot of Sichuan pepper and serve it with raw cabbage , or over rice. 😁
