Black Watch, 3rd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland (3 SCOTS). The original highland regiment of that name.

@BarrySuridge Right! But that's the designation for our brother regiment in Scotland. The Black Watch of Canada followed a different lineage and was not amalgamated into a single Regiment unlike the Black Watch of Scotland along other highland units (The Highlanders, Royal Highland Fusiliers, etc) nor given a designation like "3 SCOTS". As for the 3 SCOTS, its lineage goes way beyond their current designation 😅: 42nd rgt of Foot, Black Watch (Royal Highlanders). The Canadian Black Watch also had different names: Royal Scots, Royal Fusiliers, Royal Highlanders, Royal Light Infantry of Montreal. Deep history, isn't it?
