I’m learning so much. I’m very thankful that you share with us. I’m kind of stuck since quitting quilting. Kind of a muscle memory thing, I think. I’m gonna keep plodding along. I have an end goal!!!!

Love these prints. Maybe you could shift the waste paper across to the right to be out of frame therefore allowing you space on the left to have the registered print in frame for us to see as you progress?

Great Idea! I'll do that next time. Thanks for watching.

I enjoyed this gel printing session, great prints. I love the neutral tones. Black and yellow make green.

Just wanted to say, if you put your brayer into a container of water after you roll off, then roll off onto a paper towel to dry off, you never have to worry about residue affecting your next roll.
@SusanCliftonArtist9 ай бұрын
I could probably do that if I wasn't also shooting video. You have no idea of all the things I have to multi-task. I'm amazed that I do it as well as I do. Plus my table is small. I'm in a really small studio. Bigger things to come. One step at a time. Thanks for watching and commenting.

If you want a really dark impression of the mask/host on the plate, ink it up first, before you put it onto the plate. Linda Germain does this to add color to her prints. It's a bit messy, but it works. I use another gel plate but you could just use a piece of freezer or palette paper.
@SusanCliftonArtist7 ай бұрын
Yes that does sound messy. LOL. Thanks for the suggestion.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to put the paint you want a very small amount of (like the black) on a separate palette and then you can transfer the right amount to the plate. That way you will get the right mix and you won’t waste any paint!
@cidk599 ай бұрын
you can also mix the color you want on a palate and use that if you're looking for a specific color.
@katiehanrahan52939 ай бұрын
@@cidk59 Yes, that as well.
@SusanCliftonArtist9 ай бұрын
I tried that but I have to be sure I'm going to use that color again. In this case, yes, I was only using 2 colors but usually I'm changing colors and changing my mind so that has not been my practice. Trust me, no paint was wasted.

Is all deli paper created equal?
@DawnoftheDay-mb7zt9 ай бұрын
No…. I have a thinner version that is great for her rubber bands, and I have done great pine needles with it. In other words, thinner paper for thicker masks or very fine stencils because you can work it into grooves. I have a slightly thicker, more square version that is perfect for everything else. It is less likely to crinkle. Both make amazing prints for collage.
@SusanCliftonArtist9 ай бұрын
Thanks for your reply @DawnoftheDay-mb7zt . The one I'm using is thin. Similar to tissue but stronger. It doesn't tear when I pull. I love it. It's this one from Amazon. amzn.to/498i17b
