@@Potaytoyes Sure, this scene for me anyway carries no emotional weight. We’re made to believe we care about this man in the building. But there is no emotional buildup between Bruce or him at all. The collapsing building was a throw back to the WTC which IMO was in poor poor taste.. but really tugs at those yanky heart strings. And lastly how many damn times has someone recited religious dialogue before their untimely end in films. This film was received poorly and ultimately ended up being a build up to an overall disaster of a film in TJL. This scene shows the audience what kind of Batman Affleck was going to be in this universe. This is a very "reactionary" Bat, who places emotion over deliberation and due process. He sees something, he reacts to it without any delay. Planning and methodical detective work comes 2nd. That's why rage drives him throughout the movie even to the extent of wanting to murder Supes and only a emotional trigger, ie Martha's name, could make him come back to his senses. I think Zack should have been giving a chance to bring this Bat to proper conclusion. So much potential, it is sad.

The incredible yet scary thing about this scene is that it’s a sad but realistic take on a situation like this. Most superhero movies have scenes of catastrophic collateral damage during big battles, but the perspective of the chaotic confusion, horror and melancholy from the civilians, onlookers and people on the ground trying to help survivors is usually not really seen and explored. And let’s be honest us puny mortal humans we would either be terrified or angry if a fight between two or more superhumans occurred, which lead to this. And to be fair, Clark probably didn’t mean or want to cause this situation and casualties along the way… as Zod is mainly responsible for that, but Clark is still partially responsible for the collateral damage, no matter if intentional or more likely fir him, accidental.. So as somber as this scene is, it’s a scarily realistic portrayal of if something like this happened in real life. But then again tragically for the Americans something relatively similar happened in 2001 but because of something other than super powered aliens. But aftermath and the perspective of the people are very much the same… justified paranoia, fear and anger… which is seen in Batfleck’s Bruce after witnessing his employee becoming crippled, his employee/ friend Jack being killed and a young girl suffering the tragically similar fate to Bruce, of becoming an orphan. Yes it’s gritty, but it’s sadly very realistic.

I read somewhere that Wally was supposed to be the Superman villain John Corben aka Metallo. Jack was supposed to be Lucius Fox played by the late Lance Reddik, and the girl was supposed to be Carrie Kelly

This is one of my favorite movie moments in all movies because you get to see the city being destroyed from the ground instead of the heroes point of view. I know Bruce is Batman but in this moment he is just a normal guy trying to save his friend and other people. That makes him a true hero.

This is a really amazing scene, I haven't watched superheroes movies for a while because they haven't resonated with me, but the way Batman looks at Superman, basically with a look of "look what you have caused, look what you've done to my people, you don't even consider us, do you?"
