The band Blackberry Smoke is the Lynyrd Skynyrd of the 21 Century. Charlie Starr is the best vocalist of this century too. Thanks Guys we all love your music. I listen to y'all all day and night. Cleaning house to BBS music, even have my husband listening to their music. BBS is the BEST. When y'all come to Tx. its just too hot to go to the concert, but I love ya all. Take care and stay safe.

The demise of FM radio is the reason these guys are the best band most of your friends haven't heard of yet. I don't know anyone who doesn't love them the first time they hear them. Ain't Much Left Of Me would have made them superstars in the FM radio era, and if not that, Run Away From It All, or One Horse Town, Prayer For The Little Man, Best Seat In The House and/or lots of other of their original songs would have broken them nation wide and given them the exposure and level of success that their never ending touring is giving them now. Success is a relative thing and I have the sense that they love playing together and any success that they have attained is great but not the reason they started and still play together today, but success usually translates into longevity and that means we get more and more music from them. I took way too long to say I love this band and hope they never stop.

Their popularity is growing here in the U.K. as their music is an antidote to the homogenized bullshit in the mainstream music scene.

Well said, Andrew(!) I have degrees in music, am 60 years old, have eclectic taste & appreciation for bands/musicians thru the decades and am a fairly new fan of this band - having heard/seen the band's name here & there...but when I finally had that first listening experience I was immediately aware that these guys are really good songwriters employing atypical harmonic progressions and clever meaningful lyrics! So what I'm taking too long to say now is FM rock radio today seems overly polarized - either the new rock tunes one hears are in the 'alternative' domain or are the same old same old warhorse tunes beat to death and proudly played by a computer in virtually the same order on daily playlists. And don't even get me started on the infestation of pop and new country music with the 'snap track' beat, auto-tune & auto-harmony and some kid workin' an overly repetitive pentatonic church blues style melody - like they've paid their dues and got something to say - NOT!

I saw BBS play acoustic to a crowd of about 100 people in The Basement in Nashville in 2017. This was my first time seeing them play. After the show they had a 'Meet & Greet'. I got their autograph and a picture with Charlie. Before the show I looked them up and the first song I listened to was "Aint' Much Left of Me". I was smoked, blown away and instantly fell in love with them. The next time was the second concert in 2018 at The Shed. As the band ended their show, a tremendous storm came rolling in. Within minutes the power was out all over Maryville, Tn. These boys are so loyal to their fans, they went ahead and did the Meet & Greet that was scheduled. They did it without any power, very little lighting, and in a downpour of rain. They are so dedicated to their fans, they show us how grateful they are and how much they care about us, the Brothers and Sisters. They have been together for over 20 years, & I think it's time they get the recognition they deserve. They have been guests on The Tonight Show, Stephen Colbert show, Conan O'Brien, jools Holland, Carso Daly, NCIS: New Orleans tv show, and their music is played numerously on the series "Yellowstone". They deserve a Grammy!!!!!

No shame in only just discovering BBS. They've only been playing since 2002 at the Star Bar in Atlanta. Blackberry Smoke is a name suggested to them [I forget which group] but I love their name! Rock On Blackberries. And when they take lead guitar breaks...they are...(are you ready for this) MELODIC. No boring-scale-freaks here. They’re not to my taste, but they are evidence that every type of band that has ever existed still exists somewhere and is still making that particular style of music. I don’t like southern rock. Something went wrong when that southern sound started to be fetishized. More of a psychedelic fan myself, also into classic-style hard rock, classic-style heavy metal, and some progressive rock, folk, punk, and classic-style rock ‘n’ roll, and there’s always a new band out there playing everything I could want. There’s so many good bands out there nowadays that I can even pick and choose just overtly Satanic bands from every genre that I like. And I think the ratio of male to female musicians has improved a little.

Great Band! Great Music! I love these guys, for their Break It Down acoustic tour they added Benji Shanks on guitar & mandolin, He also stayed with them for the Till The Wheels Fall Off 2019 tour. They added an old friend Preston Holcomb on percussion for their TTWFO portion. I have seen recent shows where Benji has moved on and Preston is still there. I love Benji's contributions especially on slide and mando, but I am a big fan of Paul Jackson's playing and love his leads and fills and Benji did cut into his spotlight time. That said I love all versions of this band.
