Brit had a presence about him, aora if you wanna call it that, he was so much more than just a drummer to the fans and especialy the band!! no matter who they choose to be behind the skins, there will be a void. Little nuances that the fans may not notice but the band will. It really won't be fair to the drummer comming in because of Brits presence in the band. RIP BRIT , prayers still to his family and the band. I'm 55 and hated 80's music growing up. I've heard comments from some folks sayin' rock and roll is dead or everything that could be done has been done. THIS BAND PROVES that just ain't true!!! They ain't fake, you can hear thier many influences but they don't try to be thier influences. They are Blackberry Smoke! They play for all the right reasons. The music and lyrics are soooo damn good! The covers they do are sooooo damn good! The fact that they all love eachother after all these years , never breaking up heading on 25 years soon says so much! Being on an independent label helps but, I still think they would still be together anyway. I just wish they was around in the '80's!!

So touching to re- and re-watch this outstanding concert filmed by WDR Rockpalast. I can see into Charlie's eyes. Look at those keyboards and Brandon's work. The guitar playing up so so close. Paul's hair and earring. Richard being Richard. The setlist. Rings on Charlie's fingers. The cymbals. Guitar straps. The crowd. Beautiful lighting. And then Brit Turner. Drumming, drum sticks. RIP 3 March 2024. So wish I had been at this concert. Another Vielen Dank WDR Rockpalast.

Thing is about Blackberry Smoke, they just keep getting better and better, and tighter. They're fast becoming the best band in America. Those Capricorn studio session songs are stunning. They can play anything, they do great covers, and Charlie writes killer songs. All the parts are beneficial to the others. Every musician fits perfectly.

Watched them open up for Tedeschi Trucks last year. Then watched half the crowd leave halfway through TTB. Not a knock on TTB. It's just that the crowd was there to see BBS. Then decided to beat traffic. Been my favorite band for 7-8 years now. Saw them before that, but really realized the potential around 2013 or so.

These dudes have paid their dues, and it has certainly paid off for them. The best band in the world. I saw them a few years ago and the audience ranged from 6 to 80, all singing along and dancing. Truly a band for the ages.

I have seen these guys live twice. I got to meet them at the charity meet and greet after the show. They were great. I forgot to ask them if there was really a Pines Pub as mentioned in Sleeping Dogs. They are great. I will see them every time they even come close to Houston. Love these guys!

I've watched this concert dozens of times. It is outstanding. Setlist; each song on the timeline, close-ups of every one in the band. Close-ups so close you could kiss each band member! Sound is perfect. Lighting just right. Good mix of band and the audience. This is a concert and not a concert-show. I'd be hard pressed not to be dancing and singing along out of tune to every song if I'd been there. Enjoy this Rockpalast and WDR production for perhaps the finest of all the concerts on KZbin of Blackberry Smoke. Just glorious. Merci encore und Vielen Dank.

Saw this band in November of 2009 as they opened up for Lynyrd Skynyrd at the Bay Center in Pensacola, Florida. I had never heard of them and became an instant fan after their set. Ran into Charlie and Paul (Paul lived in Pensacola prior to moving to Atlanta before meeting Charlie) and they were the most laid back people in the place that night. Ultra cool to spend a couple of minutes chatting with them. I told them I was new to their music and would be seeing them as Headliners in the near future. I am so glad I was right. I was in the Navy at the time and the base was giving the tickets out for free to service members. It was the only reason I went as while I like Skynyrd, they aren't my first choice to see live. Glad I went!

What I like best about BBS is their enthusiasm. Charlie always looks like he's having the time of his life. These guys sound better live than in the studio I think. They perform this song on Jools Holland and it is just as good.

I still remember where I was the day that.. ""Street Survivors"'.. hit the airwaves from Lynyrd Skynyrd... It sounded like a southern wave of fresh air!!!...too good to be true!!... We were all fit to be tied....and I ain't lying..... .. it sounded so great!!!... So the first time I heard blackberry smoke..... I'm thinking this sounds like some Skynyrd and it sent me into a phase of Widespread Panic.... !... Once again too good to be true... And I ain't messi with you!!!

Over the course of the past 10 years I've seen them 7 times. I seen The Black Crowes 12 times. These guys are carrying that torch Rich and Chris dropped.I might even go so far as to say they're doing a better job of it (I would never say anything bad about the stuff they did but Luther Dickinson though because it was INCREDIBLY good.(especially Live at Levon Helm's(R.I.P.)place... These guys right here are so freaking good man. They truly are keeping good southern rock alive.

@@ziggylayneable I just saw Luther & Cody last November in Ithaca NY. Small club, Monday night audience...really close and intimate show. It might have been the first night of the new tour. Played everything from the new album. They are as great as ever!!

@@hillbillytrump6817 usually as long as it's an outside gig I've never had problems with security once I started getting gray in my hair. Once they realize I'm not a kid they pretty much leave me alone. Unless I'm so drunk I'm bumping into things and falling onto people's blankets if it's an outside show & we're sitting on the grass. I went to a Chris Robinson and new Earth mud show?... Every time it got quiet I kept screaming"FABLES"because I really wanted to hear that song. Plus I was drunk and couldn't keep my mouth shut. Chris Robinson says to me "shut the fuk up this is my show I pick the songs" . The entire crowd laughed at me. So I screamed back at Chris"sorry my bad"....lol
