She literally lived 2 streets away from me. I was born in 1966 and it was before my time but we knew about her as children. She disappeared from Halloran Park which is a place I myself went to all the time since W. 117th was at the end of my street, Thrush Ave,. He poor mother never recovered from Beverly's disappearance and sadly she never saw justice for Beverly and never got closure or answers. I still think of Beverly. She could have been any one of us. I can't begin to imagine the pain her family went through. Every time I go back home I go past her house to just say her name to let her know she hasn't been forgotten. Then I go past my old Junior High Wilbur Wright where Gina DeJesus was taken and held poisoner for years. Sadly, I think Beverly was killed almost immediately after she was taken. There were some leads at one point but nothing really panned out. Now I do know that Beverly and her parents are together and her mother has her little girl safely in her arms forever.

@@milotorres6894 Beverly's mom passed away in 1956. Her broken heart most likely caused her death to come sooner than necessary. Her father passed away in 1970 but her only sister kept up the search until she herself passed away in 2006. Since they never found Beverly, there's a memorial marker near her parents graves. And I had the Shirley Temple doll of Heidi when I was a little girl. That's exactly why my own mom named me Heidi :) I still think of Beverly. She went to the same elementary school, she played in the same neighborhood and seeing the show wagon that even I went to see. It's just a kind of connection as strange as that sounds. She's not lost anymore. She's safe and will always be remembered by someone because any one of us could have been or be the little girl who disappeared. I know I wouldn't want to be forgotten nor would I want to be the parent who didn't know where their child was. May the Potts family rest in peace.

I’m 64 and was born here in Cleveland. I remember as a kid my mom talking about this. I’ve thought of Beverly thru the years and always wonder what happened to her. Another little girl disappeared around 1980 from Maple Heights, not too far from here. She’s still missing too. Her name is Tiffany Papesh. I’m glad I came across your channel. You put out interesting stuff.
@helenHTID3 жыл бұрын
Yes I know the Tiffany story well. Some dude by the name of Brandon Lee Flagner is currently serving a life sentence for her murder after confessing back in '83. He confessed while already in prison serving a sentence for child molestation and burglary, He got convicted on that confession with zero evidence backing it up or with what happened to her. The cops never believed he did it, Her family don't believe he did it, Nobody believes he had anything to do with her.. He actually has a water tight alibi proven by FBI but was never submitted in court, Literally the only evidence he was convicted on was the confession (albeit coming from someone who had molested a child). He later took it all back and said he did the confession out of fear and coercion after he was beaten by arresting officers during initial investigation? I mean, It doesn't sound far fetched because I can imagine the pressure they were under to pin someone and the rouge behaviour that heavily existed with police back then, This guy ticked a box and it's quite possible they used him.. And so the real culprit/s (If there are any) have walked away smiling no doubt.

Shoot, back in the day (60s-70s) it wasn't THIS bad.. u used to could leave your front door unlocked & go to sleep...not today you can't!! Too many THUGS roaming around ready to rob, steal & kill.. this poor girls case reminds me of the Patricia (Patti) Adkins case... They (Ohio) knows who she left work with but they don't do shit about it..the clowns name is Brian Flowers😾..wish I could run across that bastard..

If she is still alive pray to God that she is, she will be 80 years old.

i doubt she would be.. they could've killed her long ago

I highly doubt she's still alive. She would have most likely NOT gone nearly 70 years without contacting her family!

There are a couple of great books on Beverly Potts. I remember we didn't get television until about 1956. And we still listened to a lot of programs on the radio because television programming was not quite there yet.

Thanks Lamont for bringing this long unsolved case to attention again. How sad for her parents who probably blamed themselves for letting her stay until 9:30PM. Whatever happened to this young girl, I hope she's at peace now.

My old town! Very proud to be from Cleveland. I honestly haven't heard of this case. My parents were both from the Collinwood area, born in the mid '50s. Thank you for talking about this beautiful girl because I honestly never knew.

Poor baby girl... She was spending time with her friend & watch & listen to the singing & dancing and some monster took her away so devastating to think of her Parents heartbreak and anguish. 😭😢💖💐

It's a damn shame that a child like Beverly wasnt allowed to experience growing up and enjoying more pleasures in life. All taken from her by (likely) one sicko. And the offender likely lived a long life and died decades later than Beverly. Hopefully the case can finally at least be closed soon.
