I remember when she told missing girl Amanda Berry’s mother that she was dead. That broke her spirit and she died a few years later. Amanda was alive and was held captive for 10 years. It’s too bad she told her mother that she was dead. Otherwise her mother may have held out hope and remained alive to see her released.

Sylvia Browne was really popular around the time my 9 year old daughter and husband were killed in a car crash. I remember buying her books looking for SOMETHING that would give me comfort. I even checked her website for a private reading and the price was so astronomical that I couldn’t even hope to get one. Somewhere in the back of my head I knew she had to be a fraud but I was desperate for kind words of encouragement. Shame on anyone who would exploit people’s emotions and sorrow for money.

Best line I ever heard about a psychic was from a Rockford Files episode, where Jim and Rocky were talking about the death of one of Rocky's neighbours.Rocky was saying how she was a psychic, and that she'd gotten hit and killed by a truck...Rocky asked of Jim : ".... Now, don't you think - if she was really a psychic - she'd have known the truck was coming, and would have gotten out of the way ?!" Exactly.

She totally did!!! I remember once a woman had only said, "I've been having health problems..." Sylvia cut her off and said, "You have a tipped uterus!" The woman was silent and said, "Ummm, I've had a hysterectomy and neuropathy in my feet and..." I swear, Sylvia cut her off again and said something so absurd like, "Sorry honey, but your uterus is still there!! You need another gynecologist!" Remember, Montel would always jump in and say something stupid about how she knows and has written like 9,000 books? My sister and I still talk about that episode. It was disgusting the way she misled people. Their pain, grief, heartbreak, and got condescending and really rude when she was so obviously wrong!! @@starling5188 It was so bizarre but she did sooo many of Montel shows back in the 90's. The whole hour, so like so many people asking all kinds of questions. It was cutting her off and telling her she had a "tipped uterus" that my sister and I where like, huh??? 😳 You're so right about the 9/11 woman!! It was crushing to see her pain like that and Sylvia again was so absurd! She said it was 9/11 and her response was still doubling down. Remember that couple, who's son was missing and he ended up being found alive? That clip is around and when Sylvia told her he wasn't alive? Oh my goodness, the woman dissolving into tears and collapsing into her seat was just another heartbreaking moment and really difficult to watch. It's always so nice to see and chat with people who have compassion, so empathic and not desensitized to other's pain, anguish and their joy and happiness.💗 Too many people fighting in a KZbin comment over silliness sometimes. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Much love to you Starling! 💞💫💞

That's terrible, I'm so sorry that happened to your grandmother. As a Christian, I've just met too many people who are retired but have such compassion, faith and believe what little money they have is going to help someone less fortunate. They have had to back to work in their 70's, even 80 years old and working on their feet to pay for food, medication, insurance. It breaks my heart every time I meet a person with similar stories. I'm always happy to listen and I give them emotional support because they're often widowed, without family. I guess most of us would believe anything our parents would tell us about that may not be true. So over the years of her growing up, nobody else could tell her any different about her younger life. It's just sad, very sad indeed. Even through all of that, God still loved Miss Browne and would've forgave her if she asked God before passing, I can't say that she didn't, I can't judge her last days of her life, only God can and it's only between her and God.

In the 90's, my dad died and no one told me for six months. He wasn't in my life growing up and both my mom's side and my dad's side hated each other. Because of this, when I found out he had died I had no closure and I was suffering over it. Around that same time, those ghost hunter shows and "psychics" like Silvia Browne were very popular. I made a HUGE mistake in trying to contact my dad in the spirit realm. I was also reading a book by Silvia Browne about the afterlife. I should have known better being raised in Church. Well, the night after I had used a tape recorder to try and pick up a message from my dad, I was laying in bed reading Silvia's book and I was physically attacked by a demon. I ran out of the room and the next night I was attacked again. Let me tell you, I asked the Lord to forgive me, I got rid of her books, I had a preacher come and bless my house, he prayed over me, and to this day I will not watch any haunted anything. You invite demonic entities into your life when you do this. You can believe me or not, I don't care. I know what happened and why and I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Watch what you listen to and what you allow in your home.

Suing psychics for providing fake readings is like suing churches for providing fake solace/beliefs. If people choose to believe and pay for questionable services that are largely known as being scams, then that’s on them. Thank you, I too, and as I tried to tell another commenter, I was diagnosed as a sensitive. Ppl always freak out asking me if I'm a psychic. This shit is random. It comes out of your mouth before you form the thought. Then you're validated when it happens, then you feel bad. I told my mom her dad died, not knowing he was in the hospital, 2 minutes later the phone rang, her brother called from the hospital, Dad's dead. I was heading into the house to get something and even I couldn't believe I said something like that. But, your gram is right. It's a God gift, not for making money off. And I truly believe non of us can get in the zone and see everything. That woman never said, I'm not getting a connection there, never, not once. And too often, "They're in the water."

First of all, let me say that this was one of Lamont's finest serious videos. I rewound it a couple of times. Now getting to the meat of the matter, no psychic can throw a 50-yard touchdown at the drop of a hat like the legendary Doug Flutie when he played for Boston College. Especially if the chore is to do that repeatedly. What Sylvia Browne had going for her was a witch persona and the gift of gab and storytelling. It's watchable TV and that's why Montel Williams, a former Naval intelligence officer, took a shine to her. (No pun intended.)

Sylvia was the opening act one season. She would just come up with all kinds of oddball things for people she would pass in the casinos. Stopping them and saying "Your dead grandmother is trying to contact you! Go visit her grave!" And the "dead" grandmother was simply cashing out her slot machine winnings. "Oh well your other grandmother I mean." That one was alive too. Odd. I stayed away from her. It's funny she has an outlet beneath her...

True story, my friend and his wife ran into her while fishing on a river in Northern California. So my friend asks here where the best spot to go to catch some fish. They went and didn't catch a fish but he said neither had Sylvia at the point they were talking to her. I laughed every time I think about that.

I had a reading with Sylvias son and he charged me $500.00. I talked to him and scary enough, he was more on it then sylvia ever was. He nailed everything on the head and told me how to solve my current problem. One month after the reading I did a chargeback on my credit card and got my money back. LOL!!!

A friend had disappeared in the 80’s, his desperate family contacted SB for possible insight, they paid her fee. Somehow she had discovered they had relatives in Canada, “he’s traveling to Canada”, she told them. Weeks later his badly decomposed body was found in his hometown. The news devastated the family, I hope they have a special for her in Hell.

Ha! Reminds me of a Sylvia Browne book I read in the early 2000's. She included her supposed history of being "psychic". At one point she's married to her future ex-husband and he's a huge skeptic of her "abilities". One evening, she practices astral projection and leaves her body. As she's supposedly trawling around the house in spirit form, she enters the living room where her husband is asleep on the couch. She decides to kick over the andirons to shock him awake while providing "proof" that her alleged abilities are real. Because she's in "spirit form", her foot keeps going through the andirons again and again. Giving up, she decides to go on back to her body. However, she claimed to notice that she was leaving little footprints in the carpet as she exited the room. All I could think was "if she doesn't have to ability to affect physical objects like the andirons, how is her spirit able to affect the physical nap of the carpet in order to leave footprints"? Blew it for me... I knew them that she was full of poo-poo.
