Undoubtedly you were born before 1970. Leon Russell was as mention was a singer/ songwriter. Very famous. He was once married to Brenda Russell who hit was Piano in the Dark. Either you only listen to black music and never venture to other music venues. I was a black child in the 60s and 70s who didn't have a black radio station. So I appreciate old school any music. I also enjoy classical music. Next talk about something you know instead of going to a random graveyard of people we will NEVER met and talk so blantly about their deaths. Or maybe you should take a break and think of some other subjects

He’s in the Rock and Roll and Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. He recorded 31 albums and wrote over 400 huge songs, many of which I guarantee you know. Tight Rope, This Masquerade, Lady Blue, Back to the Island, Delta Lady were some of his hit songs. He wrote songs for the Carpenters (Superstar and A Song For You) and won many Grammys including songs he co-wrote with Barbra Streisand for the soundtrack to A Star is Born. He is a legend among legends! Go read his bio. It’s one of the most impressive in the music industry. I am a huge fan!! Thanks for visiting his gravesite, even though it was apparently by accident 😅.

Great tribute to all commemorated here Lamont. Leon Russel had a few charting hits over the years. Tightrope, lady blue, masquerade and this song's for you. Honored member of the Rock And Roll hall of fame. In the case of Rex B. It seems ironic how success was not enough for him. I live by a simple formula in life that has kept me balanced and focused for many years, I often ask people if they can give the definition between success and happiness in life and have received many different responses. My answer to that question has always been simply,...... Success is having all you want,... Happiness is wanting all you have. Love your credo of "payable upon death". We are only worth the good we have done in life and our legacy lies within the hearts of those who loved and remember us. It's just THAT simple. Great video Lamont.

I too was surprised to find out about Oral Roberts. (Yes, spelled ORAL). Strange to discover his grave has no flare or fanfare. Just a small simple marker in an anonymous space. Just some hometown info if you find the time or are even interested. Comedian Sam Kennison is also buried here. Probably most interesting grave on site. Usually surrounded with candles, unopened beer bottles, cigarettes (save for weather), guitar picks, joints, pipes, stuffed animals, photos, money etc. Some of the items & tributes have been there for almost 30 yrs. And no one dares to touch any of it. Not sure why Lamont failed to mention him in this video.

Also, I am a retired Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who worked with juveniles who were pending transfer once they turned 18 due to most had adult criminal felony murder convictions or gang related felonies. Anyway, the largest population was from Oklahoma, Las Vegas and Massachusetts. One girl who'd just turned 18 was driving drunk and hit/killed a family of 5. She was a Native American which at the time a battle ensued where to send her. Texas has Mountaintop a General Pop facility known for violence. Private prison was hopeful for most. Eric Matthew is my age...I can't imagine having my life cut short in 1997. My heart goes out to all those who are deceased and to their families. May their souls rest in peace.

That guy you described Lamont that had all that money and he wants to go out and steal. I'm at a loss for words. All I can say is wow. Wow.

Thanks for another great episode. This cemetery is so huge, probably the largest non-military cemetery I've been to, that finding any kind of grave is like a needle in a haystack. The staff at the building are very helpful that they'll find any person for you. I've been to a couple of the graves you were at in this episode plus Sam Kinison's, which I know you did in another episode. I was trying to find Bob Wills' grave but that one was difficult to find. Very touching stories you've told in this episode about the innocent that were killed.

Thank you for sharing another great video with us Lamont. It’s always nice to see how you put so much care into researching each person you speak about even though they may not have been famous. I remember Leon Russel because my mom had his album when I was a kid. He had a great voice and was a very talented musician. Thanks again for all the care and hard work you put into your videos. Stay safe and take care out there 👋🏻
