Have you looked into a furrow jet system might work. Without having to extend the closing wheel system? Just saw a neighbors planter that’s all be safe.

Good evening it's nice to see you're in the field planting corn. I was out checking tonight my corn just finally poked through here on the farm. This year I bought a 1750 XP John Deere . have a great evening

Hi ...nice to hear from you ... awesome! ..thats a good feeling ... we got the corn planted, finished on the 12th, just ahead of more rain - the early corn is about 4 inches tall and growing fast... if it keeps getting rain it should do pretty good I think - fingers crossed ..... again, great to hear from you - hope your year is going well 😊

Glad to hear planting is moving along. The 7000 series planters are great planters. They are still a lot of them in use today. You cant go wrong with the planter you bought.

It's just starting to dry out here and rain is on the way. We have some lime put on and some burn down done and that is about it. The next county over has been running wide open for about a week. It's good to chat with you as always.

That planter would look awesome on your 4850! That 1765 is pretty sharp and looks really nice.

What's your opinion on the no till culters? Do you think there necessary?
@Blackearthexcavationandtiling Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question .. I really don't know ..we have debated this for a long time ... I think if you had really good other equipment - such as Vertical Tillage or a shredder- you could do without them ..but if you have longer pieces of corn stalk to no till through, they are good to cut the material up ahead of the truv's.....I really don't like them - as most companies coulters cut deeper than the openers, which agronomists say you don't want to do.... I guess I'd say situation dependent ....I should make a whole video about coulters ....

I'm close to you near Creston and I learned this year that spoked gauge wheels will still plug in the mud. They are better than regular, but not perfect. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the copperhead closing wheels and see if you think they are worth the money.

Your very close! ... hello neighbor- haha ..... thats interesting and good info- I wondered .... when we first started this year I was having a hard time closing the seed trench - especially in corners.... the copperhead totally resolved that issue... emergence is better where we ran them over the rubber.... I'll try do more about them in an upcoming video.. I'm sold on them - especially for corn planting ..no till soybeans, not sure, haven't ran any yet ...
