The thing that is funny about “it’s always sunny…” is they’re so stupid they are funny. This is similar to tropic thunder in that they both point out that the characters in the movie/show are so ridiculous that they actually do something really racist without understanding how terrible it is. That what makes this funny. No one is actually doing blackface for a racist reason here.
