This version is so different, and still as powerful as the dimming memory I have of the 70s Roots. Grateful for the update.

I love the way Rege looks at Erica the whole time she is listening to the host ask her a question. He waits so patiently to hear what she has to say, while his eyes just hold on to every blink she makes. I would love for someone to look at me that way, I admire that kind of friendship and relationship because there is almost an unspoken language. Malachi is so amazing how he expresses himself and his sense of emotions that he feels towards this story, I could just listen to him and Rege speak for hours on end. Ruth's eye for detail that compliments such a significant era of time, so much that each costume fits that person to the T. I just fell in love with this whole cast and story.
