Throwback! Our First Interview with ‘Bridgerton’ Star Regé-Jean Page in 2016

Regé-Jean Page is making headlines as Simon Bassett in the Netflix hit “Bridgerton,” but “Extra” actually interviewed the actor back in 2016.
At the time, he had just starred as Chicken George in the miniseries “Roots.” We spoke to him on the red carpet at the Tribeca Film Festival. Check it out!

Give Regé an award! He worked hard for years to get to that point. His rendition of chicken George was superbe ! I actually preferred him in Roots than in Bridgerton. All of the emotions in Roots could be felt. He mastered that role. Award is long overdue.

Totally agree. What I like is that he shows a good acting range in both, Bridgerton and Roots. He pays attention to details, not only the accent, the tone of the character’s voice. Love Roots.

@@sabcam2000 I am black too, that's why I know he is black. Is Bones structures clearly shows he is black. What does Mix means?? Lol Skull shape/bones structure is what defines your ethnicity. If you go by his skin colour, you problaby will say that the koison are mix race as well, which I believe you know very well they are not. Simple exercise, he looks more like you, or more like Brad Pitt?? Lol Another thing, he is pretty dark as well, dispite is father being white, because I know plenty children from black parents who have same skin complexion.

I think it's overwhelming and huge responsibility to be loved by millions, who connect you to the characters you are playing. Well, actors/ performers have to be ready to experience that, it is their goal.
