Yes, Blackfoot is one of the bands that should have gotten much more attention than they ever did.

Lucky lucky woman. I got to see them in 1982 (maybe 1983), opening for Ted Nugent. I had never heard of Blackfoot, except that my best buddy had just seen them when Blackfoot headlined and Def Leppard opened. He told me I would love Blackfoot. I was at that show to see Ted Nugent, but by the time that show was over, I was there to see Blackfoot. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE BAND!!!

Original Molly Hatchet and Blackfoot are the best two bands I have seen live. I loved Diary of a Workingman. A couple of years ago I saw Medlocke backstage at a LS concert and he introduced me to a few of the guys in LS and I remember telling Rossington that very people I have seen live could play a guitar like Medlocke. I saw Blackfoot live 15-20 times over the Medlocke years. None since.

Just got hired to play bass in a classic rock band. KB, Drs, Gtr, Bass, 3 vocs. My background is in bluegrass, folk, country blues, celtic, etc. Been an acoustic player all of my musical life. Have always heard and loved these songs, but always considered them out of my range as a player. Just learned this one TODAY 9-10-13. Have been learning all the SR classics, LS, MH, BF, WW, CDB, DBs. What an education. I'm in my 50s and rockin' for the 1st time in my life and LOVIN' IT!!

Rickey was actually a drummer for Skynyrd in their early days. He left in 71 to form Blackfoot and in 96 he went back to Skynyrd :)

@@carolleslie517 Nope, Rickey Medlocke never was a member of The Outlaws - but, he and Hughie Thomasson knew each other for many years, and they both played together in Skynyrd in the 90s and 00s.

I saw them on the leg of this tour that went through KC. Teenage Def Leppard opened, and the crowd seemed to enjoy it. Then these guys came out and showed them how grownups burn a hall to ground.

If you saw them in 1982, then that's the same year Blackfoot changed my musical life. My buddy want and saw Def Leppard, due to Pyromania...but they were the openers in Los Angeles. Then, a month or so later, I'm going to see my then-hero Ted Nugent. This time Blackfoot is the opener. I had no idea who Blackfoot was. My buddy who'd just seen them assured me that I'd love em. Long story short - they destroyed me. UNBELIEVABLE band. Now my #2 or 3 band. I pray often that Rick Medlocke will leave Skynyrd and front Blackfoot again. He has the voice of a god

I love the entire "strikes" album. I still remember where I was the first ime I heard Blackfoot song, "Train Train" on the radio. I was 17-18 years old unloading produce in the back of a grocery store. Train Train came on and I just stopped and listened to the whole song and was blown away! I bought the record and all the rest of them after that (all vinyl) . I'm just about 50 now and still enjoy them very much. (CDs) Thanks for posting the video.

I knew Medlocke had an on and off affiliation with Lynyrd Skynyrd over the years, but when I read he actually played with the band in 1970 as a drummer it blew my mind. I guess he actually grew up with those guys. In any event. this was a Great band and with a power live performance as good as it gets anywhere - Highway Song in the Zurich 82 live performance proves that.

I opened a show for these guys in Minnesota. As much as I love them, I have never seen so much beer, Jack Daniel's, and cocaine in one tiny dressing room. Rickeys eyes were so big I thought they would explode from his head. One last thing I thought was cute. All the drummers stands were literally nailed down to the floor of the stage because he hit his drums so hard. It was a good night.😅

One of the great bands of the Southern Rock genre who doesn't get enough credit, which they absolutely deserve. They released an album in (I think) '76 with an airplane on the cover (can't remember the name, help is appreciated), and that thing is absolutely brilliant from front to back. "Flyin' High", maybe?

I remember in 1980 when I was seven, my dad and I were driving from Vancouver BC to eastern Oregon. We were travelling through the Yakima WA area when it suddenly got real dark because of St Helens erupting. The one thing I really remember was driving through the ash in my dad's rig with Wishing Well ( studio version ) on the radio. It was a fine, nostalgic, and scary moment, but I will always remember it.
