Bands evolve and Led Zeps core remained the same,people said the same about Radiohead but I saw them before Pablo Honey and rite up to Pool shaped Moon,and they like Zep "evolved" some people think that means there not as good as before but that's their problem cos its them that cant evolve,viva la music.❤

If Presence came out in 1970 and lll came out in ‘76 ... switch places... then Presence would be so much more well known, more appreciated. I think it’s mostly the timing of it all. It was LZ’s 7th studio album. They’d already set the bar SO FREAKIN HIGH (for themselves as well as all other bands). Punk was coming into the scene. A lot of factors, but ultimately it was the timing in my opinion. Looking back now (or anytime from the 90s on) a lot of, if not all of what I’ve mentioned no longer applies and we can see the entire LZ catalog from a different perspective. I agree it’s definitely the most underrated LZ album. Achilles alone is just mind blowing.

Daaaang. Not a mention of the brilliance of Robert Plants voice as he weaves through the song. He was one of a kind. My favorite band of 60s 70s. Next chicago. Unbelievable talent

I.like Joe B too. But certain songs I agree are just" the best" with another artist....I.havent heard this one.i grew up.in 70s with zeppelin. One of the best vocalists. The music of 70s was the best of the best. Now its basic crap to me.rap and no soul and talent. So glad for utube to fill my soul up....

WOW ! EPIC ! I saw Zep in Oaktown in 1977 Saturday , I saw "The Firm" twice I saw the Frisco A.R.M.S. Show with Beck Clapton and Page , this is the best I have heard Page and Plant sound since Bonzo died , drummers off but still great . This is by far my favorite Zep Album , For Your Life is my favorite song of all time ! This and Achilles are Anthems !! I was blessed to grow up in the sixties and seventies , Thank You Lord !

zep fan for a long time. music fan for a longer time. Mr. Page is just off the chart player. can you imagine what it would have been like for him and the band if they had never did drugs??. achilles is beyond epic. the live version is sick. note for note. and yes thank you Lord!. music, a gift from God. amen?.

Ron Dunbar that's debatable re: w/o drugs. Their performances would have been sharper, but would 3/4 of the songs ever been written in the first place w/o the influence of certain substances? The million dollar question.

There is something about that union between Plant and Page....Robert's still got it and so does Jimmy...what emotive playing on such an amazing tune...nothing wrong with the drummer...great job. For all you clinical guitar fanatics that say that Jimmy is sloppy...give me sloppy any day if that's what it takes to create the emotion that he did on all those albums...it's called personal style you WALLIES. Listen to Jimmy Hendrix...that's the problem with guitarists today, they don't have what these guys have; if you can produce the music that they can then comment, otherwise keep your stupid comments to yourself. For you drum critics....did you get the gig?........NO. haha!

Indeed,I was devastated I was too sick,and would also have had to travel to Melbourne from Adelaide-not that FAR,it certainly was in late 1995 :- i . THIS would've helped my damaged soul ENORMOUSLY at THAT particular time,though I'm not exactly religious (deepest respect for those that are...all types),so I suppose I Am,as mine is about realising WE are just another organic species of OUR MOTHER earth. Even just eyes closed on a stretcher (I can feel the laughter already-it doesn't matter NOW,so-go for it mad hatters) even just this track,and definitely "Ten Years Gone" Absolutely no question in my mind whatsoever, PURE healing music.
@mitchettie15815 жыл бұрын
Well exactly that ... Deliberately played with a little bit of sloppy on it. Just like life, like Rock is supposed to be, a little sloppy, . I love Jimmy and almost everything he ever wrote, I don't really have another word for it other than sloppy. I'm sure it's intentionally done. Probably his trade mark in my opinion. There is a part of Rock life that sloppy and fukked up kinda go hand and hand. Been playing almost 40 years myself and know many of Jimmy's riffs, runs, licks he is the King riff master. I looked it up in the dictionary. Right beside the word" cool "there's a pic of Jimmy. 🤘

The thing to love about Jimmy is he plays loose and is not afraid to flub a note, he is not perfect but who is able to compose and invent amazing pieces like this one. I have played some mean blues in my day but never some of the cool simple chord hangs and shifts he does, simple but just genius. Best of all time! I wonder if the drummer got a band meeting after this missing some ques, what if it was Achilles Last Stand? Another killer tune off Presence, do check it out, my all time fav.
