Hi Black Forest Wood Co , Always been very impressed with your work, I think I left a message to you about a week ago when you was doing your one ton table I noticed you were struggling cutting your wood with your Circular saw, You have probably had a look by now at Maffel Tools, they make some serious Wood working tools and machinery, More pacifically they make a very large circular saw, Which would be more than adequate for your jobs, I think they will be very expensive as they have to be imported from Europe, I don’t think well worth the investment. Now I am approaching 71 years Young , I still have a router ,jigsaw , Chain mortising machine, Door lock mortising machine , made by Maffel. Like you, most of my work over the last 40 odd years has always been high end, I am self taught and I always brought tools and machinery that I know we’re gonna last a long time and well worth the investment, Good luck with your future projects, Look forward to seeing some more, And always be safe in respect of breathing apparatus eye protection and ear defenders, PHIL FROM THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOULIN FRANCE . 🎶 . Ps I wish I was still back at work, And all I do nowadays is listen to music. And of course KZbin.

I would really love to see a follow-up video showing final assembly and placement. How does someone receive something this immense? Assuming there is some kind of enclosed space - God forbid it's being set in a multi-story structure - how the heck do ya get it into a room? Something this size has to be set into something grand. I would love to see it in it's final resting space!

We're unfortunately not going to be installing this so we won't get any of that footage of the install, but we'll be delivering Joe Manganiello's D&D table next month. It's not quite as big but it's still I think 12 feet so you can still get an idea of the process when we post that! Usually if it's a few stories up we just end up walking it up thee stairs or elevator, when it's a incomplete job site we can usually lift it with a crane which is way easier haha. We will try to get some photos from the client when the table is delivered though!

Unreal wow! Where can I learn how you avoid the wood from moving and thus parting from the resin Especially thick wood that always moves and is very strong? This table looks amazing; really good work!!!
@BlackForestWoodCo
@BlackForestWoodCo Жыл бұрын
The two biggest factors are; making sure your wood is less than 10% moisture content, and using a high quality deep pour resin. Additionally, we always advise against sealing the wood prior to your pour as it prevents penetration of the deep pour resin into the wood, therefore weakening the bond.

oh i got a small neat story about smelling alcohol. I worked in a facility where we made chewing gum. These gums had a coloured coating and a wax coating for extra shine. We used beeswax for this. This wax was hard at room temperature and we couldnt heat it up to coat the gums, cause they would be damaged. So we had to mix the wax with 99% food grade alcohol and then throw the gums in a tumbler to coat them. The alcohol would evaporate during that process. So ive never been drunk in my 32years on this earth, had no real experience with alcohol. I worked in this room for 30minutes and there were fumes of approximately 20l of alcohol in there. Doooood i almost passed out and i wasnt able to walk in a straight line, yet talk normally or even see straight! Inhaling alcohol is so much damn quicker and more dangerous...i was sitting on some random machines in the next room trying to get my shit together. After that my supervisor told me: oh sorry i forgot to tell you that you dont have to be in the room when the tumblers are running and we have some safety gear somewhere lying around -.- dude what
@BlackForestWoodCo
@BlackForestWoodCo Жыл бұрын
Oh noooo, that's quite the story 😬 Well, I'm glad you were okay in the end but wow I can't imagine how strong that smell was because even those buckets were killing us, no one got drunk luckily though haha!

The problem with fragile stickers etc is everyone puts them on everything these days, if everything is fragile nothing is. That's not fragile, its a giant hunk of wood, yes you don't want it damaged, but no one wants anything damaged. You'd have no issues putting things ontop of that crate at all provided whatever was ontop didn't actually break the crate itself, and if you're breaking the crate you're likely to do damage to whatever is inside fragile or not.

I'd be worried about that box becoming the new "floor" of the truck on it's way to Alabama. It would be so easy to stack stuff on top of it, especially since it takes up so much space in the truck. Unless it's a dedicated truck for the table, I would have reinforced the heck out of the top and sides to protect the table from random loading.

That cut isn’t about power. It’s the fact that they’re cutting epoxy with a wood cutting blade so it binds. Festool make blades specifically for plastics, they clear out better as the chips are larger

FYI the blade they’re using is Festool standard “multi material” blade. So it’s basically the worst one for that job.

We still experience these same issues even when cutting solid wood.

Also, the Festool track saw isn’t underpowered. You’re cutting something that isn’t normal to cut with a track saw. 🤣

Beautiful table but what a challenge to ship. The install in the office is going to be a bastard given no forklift. You will need a battalion size crew who have eaten their spinach but when installed WOW.

I believe they're renting a forklift for the delivery so they should be okay! Thanks Sean!

Just saying they do not care about the triangle if they think it’s sturdy they will set stuff on top of your table.

Yeah, we kind of figure that's the case, that's why we put so much effort into packing it up as safely as possible!

I fully understand the need for cutting those power holes, but damn that made a stunning table into an ugly duckling!

I'm not trying to be a hater but when that table is jacked up and you got guys under there, you should have a fixed jack instead of relying on a forklift operator. If that table is as heavy as I think it is you could have a really bad injury if that thing slips for anyreason.
