I was crazy about Blackhawk when I was in jr high in the 90s! I sent it to my mom today after I heard it because she loved it too when it was released. Love the use of the snare to produce the F# tone mixed in with the mandolin to give the chords a little added tension to set the mood. Play an E major chord and add an F#. It’s like a 9th chord without actually playing a 9th chord. Of course, the F# is mixed with the other chord progressions as well, but doesn’t have the same effect as it does on the one. Given that it’s a slower half time groove, it really has time to linger and set the mood. Tip o’ the hat to the producer for that gem. I was a huge Blackhawk fan in the 90’s. Great band to warm up the vocals on when you’re on your way to a gig.

I can't see a single storm cloud in the sky but I sure can smell the rain...that is how I feel at this moment in time in my journey in life. People have created it for no reason at all. Sometimes it is ok to smell the rain at times but not when people walk away from you and have created the biggest mess for you to clean up ! And it really was not yours to clean up in the first place! It does not matter it is still one of my favorite songs.

I get what you mean about people making up problems that aren't even real. We can only go by what people do and not just what they say. They can try to paint a sunny picture about themselves when inside of them it is thunder and lightning waiting to strike. They can't hide the smell of the rain when actions speak louder than words.

Phil, Erik and I waited for the order, Erik struck up a conversation with the resting band, and asked if he could solo while they rested. That was nice. Got the food, waded to the boat and his GF asked was that you on the drums? I guess she hears a lot of practice sessions.

My mom has had a crush on Henry since she saw this video. Most underrated country band of all time.

She hasn't done a thing That really has to mean she's going anywhere I haven't seen it showing in her eyes But I swear it must be there I don't know why I feel it so strong But I feel it just the same I can't see a single storm cloud in the sky But I sure can smell the rain She'd still say 'I love you' if I ask But she never volunteers Somehow what she never says Means more than all the other words I hear Still she should win an Oscar If she's lying when she says that nothing's changed I can't see a single storm cloud in the sky But I sure can smell the rain Every day I brace myself To hear the words I'm scared she's gonna say And every night I thank the Lord Somehow I dodged a bullet one more day Sometimes there are things a man just knows That he really can't explain I can't see a single storm cloud in the sky But I sure can smell the rain I can't see a single storm cloud in the sky But I sure can smell the rain
