Rolling shutter is greatly improved in the crop modes as well, for handheld work

Facts man. I hadn’t even thought about shooting in 4K Raw. I was afraid the quality wouldn’t be nice. Thanks man! I’ll definitely use it

Right!? Literally same thing here! I kept seeing everyone on Facebook rant and rave about it so I had to see for myself. Glad I did! And now I'm even more excited to hear you found it useful.

Hi very interesting test what would you recommend for shooting a documentary in Black Magic Raw such as compression ? Thank you.
@ScarmackProductions Жыл бұрын
Depending on the length of the doc, 8:1 would be a good place to start. Enough quality but not killing you on size.

Do you have a link to the crop comp tool you showed? Great video btw! Subbed
@ScarmackProductions3 жыл бұрын
Hey Mike! That was something I just did manually. Basically just resized everything manually and then applied a slight opacity to bring more attention to the front clip. Once you do it once, you can just save the configuration and then reapply them to other clips. Hope this helps

Hello, you cant shoot in 4K using the whole sensor so that the image wouldn't be cropped? I mean like downscaling from 6K to 4K? Like shooting in 6K and post rendering the file in 4K? I hope i could make my self understood, English is not my native language!
@ScarmackProductions3 жыл бұрын
You are correct. If you choose to shoot 4k internal, it will be cropped (not utilizing the whole sensor), you can choose to shoot in 6k, use the whole sensor and then crop later in post and render 4k, you are correct. One a couple reasons why someone who choose to use 4k internal would be so they could see the final image on screen rather than leaving room to crop, and to save on file sizes. I also like the idea of how it "zooms" (crops in), it makes my 18-35 act like a 24-70.

@@ScarmackProductions thanks for your reply, yeah i got the focal length ideea too!
@daneparsons49223 жыл бұрын
Yes you can in pro Res only, you can set the whole 6k sensor in settings but shoot in 4K becomes sharper that P4k
@AexoeroV3 жыл бұрын
@@daneparsons4922 thanks! So this way the image in 4K wont be cropped right?
@bradjones9615 Жыл бұрын
@@ScarmackProductions In the video you described switching to 4k to "get a longer focal length" from your lens, but since the sensor is cropping in 4k DCI when you do this, wouldn't simply cropping a 6k image in post do the same thing?

Hi Thanks for your content. I Was planning to buy à bmpcc6k for Green screen do you think it can works Good?. Thumbs up from France
@ScarmackProductions3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the 6k will be absolutely great for Green screen. But it's like any camera, realistically any camera can do just fine for Green Screen, the results truly come down to how well you set up your screen, background, distance, lighting, and of course how good you are at post production. You can have the best camera in the world but if your lighting is horrible it will be a nightmare to green screen. So make sure you get that all dialed in first! Cheers!

The main advantage is the file size savings. Otherwise, you could do the exact same crop to punch in later in post.
@ScarmackProductions3 жыл бұрын
Could not agree more! When shooting 6k I never cropped in that much, and now that I did this test I was actually pretty impressed how much you can crop in. It will definitely be a useful tool going forward.
@lukasgisbert79083 жыл бұрын
So it’s just a crop, which you can do later on
@ScarmackProductions3 жыл бұрын
Exactly! But you get the benefit of having much smaller file sizes and the ability to "see" the crop in person on your shoot and compose exactly how you want it rather than shooting blind and hoping you compose properly to crop later.
