Blackmagic ATEM TVS HD8 ISO vs SDI Extreme ISO | Which should you buy?

Interesting video - I do think it's worth noting though, in regard to the point about number of aux outs, that if you want camera control for Blackmagic cameras, that ties up SDI outs for the return feed (unlike the HDMI models where one cable can do both). So the HD8 only has two aux outputs but it also has SDI outputs for each input, so at least the auxs are dedicated auxs in addition to pgm/prv. For the SDI minis you have to lose auxs if you want a camera control return, and for an 8-input switcher, you might only be able to use camera control on two of them if you also want a multi view and a program feed. I think they're all amazing devices and I use the HDMI models myself so the above is just what I've understood from reading/watching videos about them, but I do think that's a great advantage of the HD8.

I know that I’m an old, boring person who hates change. BUT… I have always, and will always prefer a physical switcher panel at my finger tips. I don’t know why, but I was always fascinated with the T-bar. I guess it just always symbolized a real, professional switcher, while back in the day when i was starting out, most of the prosumer switchers available had a mixer slider rather than an actual bar. lol

Hi Aaron, I have an ATEM SDI extreme iso where I'm running an SDI cable from an output on it to my projector and then using a BM SDI to HDMI converter at the projector. However, it does not even register that any signal is coming through. To no avail I've tried adjusting the switcher standard to all the avalible frame rates 1080p 30,60,29.97,59.94 etc. However when I use my ATEM mini (HDMI model set at 1080p 30) using a BM HDMI to SDI converter the projector works perfectly, thoughts?

Aarom video with the Hyper deck extreme 4k hdr how many cameras can i record in to HyperDeck. blackmagic released the atem television studio 4k8 with no iso option.

The Hyperdecks record only one camera, so ISO recording at 4K is still pretty expensive. I suspect they couldn't get ISO recording in the 4k8 because of heat issues, it takes a lot of power for that much 4K encoding

For me - the XLR audio input is worth at least $2000, so not question what our next one is.

You'll get a BM Studio 6k Pro for less than that and get an additional camera to boot.
