I'm not sure. I only have 2 powered zoom lenses but my second one doesn't have much of a range. They both don't move as fast as I would like

Powered Zoom lenses

Hey just to clarify I believe these need to be electronic (powered) zoom lenses rather then regular zoom lenses. Panasonic offer a couple with the micro four thirds mount 14-42 f/3.5-56 PZ and 45-175 f/4-5.6 PZ, Olympus also offer a couple of options 14-42 f/3.5-5.6 EZ and the 12-50 f/3.5-6.3 EZ

@@mikehyde7117 am I safe to assume “PZ” stands for “Powered Zoom” and “EZ” stands for “Electronic Zoom” and that so long as a lens has either of these labels that it should work with the controls?
@weeardguy Жыл бұрын
@@makuverse Most likely, EZ stands for the fact that the zoomring on the lens is not mechanically coupled to the lens-element(s) and thus is an optical encoder sending signals to the zoom-servo inside the lens. Though it sounds logical to support motorzoom via external command, the difference is that lenses in this field of use, contrary to professional videolenses used on cameras with interchangeable mounts, get the external control-signals from the camera instead of directly to the lens, and thus the lens has to support this communication, where it only acts on internal commands from the attached encoder when the ring on the lens is turned one way or the other. Panasonic for example is very clear on this: Powered zoom lenses feature the controls/communication to control the lens via the camera. If it's not mentioned, it's not supported and considering those lenses to be rather rare, it's more likely to not support it. To be really honest, I consider a remote with only two USB-C connectors to be a joke. It's great that they made a locking option, but a push-pull action connector would be more logical for ease of release.
