that autofocus was not totally awful. Can you do some more live shoot or news-style shooting with the BMPCC6K and Canon Servo lenses so we can get a feel of that that looks like and how it responds?

Hey Tom Question Do you have a video were you explain Ursa Mini to External recorder with Time Code. I just ordered an Ursa used and I got a good deal because one XLR port is not working so I wanted to be able to press record on the camera and generate time code on an external recorder? If you dont have a video like this can you make one or point me to one please kind sir?

Great video Tom. Would it be more practical to use a remote focus puller connected to the zoom ring. It would be a little less expensive especially if used with a remote pan / tilt

Yes will also work. Would probably be cheaper but if you want ro control the camera completely in Atem Mini software then you will need an actual servo zoom lens

@@TomAntos Hi Tom just to clarify even if user has an actual servo lens, he still needs a black magic cams 4/6k before he can enjoy the feature such as zooming found in the atem software ? If it's so, it's disappointing cause users are forced to use only their black magic cam before they can fully enjoy all the software features assuming they already invested ?

With the canon zoom lens on the 6k, how do you power the servo? D-tap? Or is it powered by the mount?

The Canon servo zooms take power from the mount. But be aware that the focus throw is very short, which is okay for handheld shooting is suppose, but trying to dial in focus remotely with the ATEM is much more fussy than it should be. Plus it’s very much an outdoor lens. The iris dials all the way up to T29, but with T4.4 as the widest end, means you need a lot of light for most cameras to get a decent indoor image. These are workhorse lenses for documentary purposes, and I respect them for that, but they fall flat if you try to use them in other ways.

Hey Tom, i wanted to know if its possible to use the RODE NTG4+ as a livestream microphone with the Zoom H5 and the ATEM mini, or if there are any other better solutions for a Shotgun microphone in the Livestream-industry. Great Video BTW

Yes you can use the ntg4 with h5 no problem. Connect the line out of the h5 to the mic in on the atem Mini. You can also buy shotgun microphones that have a 3.5mm line jack so you can connect the mic directly to the atem but in my testing those microphones produce more noise then a good phantom powered mic like the ntg4

Question for you. Are running the usb port for this camera control or ethernet connection. I'm having issues seeing my black pocket controls cameras via usb . i can see them on my side pc via ethernet but not on my main pc connected via usb. cheers

nope. Only the blackmagic cameras can be controlled like that.

I just have two questions: When using Power Zoom lenses, is it possible to create presets/macros with the ATEM software so that you can switch between a wide angle shot and a close up shot with just the push of a button? Hi Tom, I caught this video you posted from a while back. We rented the 18-80mm lens, rental company sent us the MetaBones EF to MFX Speedbooster T XL, 0.61 vs 0.71. The lens itself is connecting to 4K Studio Pro BMCC. We just cannot get the servo option to work, primarily do as you did remote focus / zoom via BM 4K Video 4k Switcher. Is there any special tricks when setting up the servo to camera?

I haven't bothered to scan all the comments here but I'm about to make a purchase of some really nice glass for live stream events while using the BMPCC and ATEM Mini Pro ISO. Canon made some great ENG lenses (think broadcast studio) a long time ago and they used to go for about $10,000. They are now about $200 to $300. I shouldn't even tell anyone this until I've gotten mine. They sound like they might be junk for today's uses? NO WAY!!!!! The B4 mount can be converted cheaply into M43 and the result is GOOD if not GREAT! But if you wanna go this route, do the research yourself. It's gonna save me a lot of money and the servo zoom capability is better than you can buy with most modern and more expensive lenses.

No, the camera control on the atem mini pro is only for the 4 & 6k bmd pocket camera.

As long as the lens is mounted on a blackmagic camera and it has servo motors for zoom it will work.
