I have the original 6k with a tilt screen mod. I love its smaller size. It gets away with looking like an un-fashionable SLR. And yes, I am a strap user. I have rigged up a strap to connect to a Manfrotto 501 base plate so it slips onto the Manfrotto foot that lives on the base of the camera. So the strap attaches to the bottom of the camera, stays clear of the tilted screen and when taught is an excellent stabiliser for hand holding. Slides off and camera is ready for tripod or gimbal. It also adds to the SLR disguise.

The strap is useful for that added stability, it just needs to be a little longer to have a better adjustable range for more body types and heights. Other than that, your quality of video work and YT content is fire 🔥!!! Great presentation and information here!

Thanks! I was just thinking about how most people will just make videos about the latest and greatest and since so many cameras are being released its hard to find videos that talk about a specific camera past the initial review and then they have moved on to the next. Within the last year I moved from shooting with Panasonic cameras (GH1-GH5S) to my first Blackmagic camera and Im always looking for tips & tricks to make sure Im getting the most out of it because it is a shift from shooting hybrid, etc. Im looking forward to the videos you have planned!

Great rundown! Having already purchased the 6k and a matt box and filters, there's not enough to make me want to upgrade to the 6k pro. Do you have any thoughts on what the next version of the pocket will be? Or even when?
@leep_ Жыл бұрын
About the plastic, and Im gonna nerd out just a tiny bit, but the pocket cameras are made of a (not cheap) engineering plastic called polycarbonate. Polycarb (PC for short) is known for its extreme durability and resistance to shock, as well as its resistance to heat. The only real downside of PC is the abrasion resistance. It scratches very easily. Other than that small issue, it's more than adequate for its role in the pocket cameras as a substitute for aluminum or steel.
@TheModernFilmmaker Жыл бұрын
Great insight!!! Thank you for leaving this comment 🙌 While it does feel a bit cheap compared to the Panasonic GH series, the Sony A7 series and especially compared to cinema cameras like a RED or ARRI. It's good to know that it's made of a durable and trusted material. I also love the weight, and I'm sure that is due to the polycarbonate. Thanks again for this informative comment!!

As a complete noob should I get the 6K pro? I know there's a learning curve but the interface was probably the biggest selling point for me.
@TheModernFilmmaker2 жыл бұрын
I LOVE the 6k Pro. For the price you will not find a higher quality image, 6k slow mo and 2.8k super slowmo is very rare. It really depends on your shooting style as well. If you shoot handheld a lot, you could get a stabilized lens like the Canon 17-55 and with a steady hand you can have the best of both worlds. Thanks for the comment 👊✌️

@@TheModernFilmmaker appreciate the reply. Subbed and I'll look into the lense as no one else recommend that one to me so you came in clutch!🔥💯

I agree with everything but one thing.. you mentioned that this thing worked well even in super hot weather. I have two pocket 6ks but unfortunately it stopped working in hot weather many times. It was just 34 degree outside n the most embarrassing moment when my client got so disappointed with me. I continued to experience the similar situations but I'm still holding on to this cam because there's many things I love about this beast.
