Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 | MORE POWER!!!

Thanks so much for this vid. I am really interested in the battery life. I assume it was the blackmagic NP‑F570 battery that at 3500ma. I am thinking of buying some Wasabi brand batteries at 2600ma, how much less time do you think they would give? I am really considering this camera, I shoot with a Sony FX100 at the moment. The Sony is a good camera but its really a studio camera and not great for run and gun.

I’ve never had the best luck with generic brand batteries but wasabi do have a great rep. Would love to hear what you find out.

Me too, The retail here in Australia for $40AU but they do have less power at 2500ma - the Blackmagic battery at $65AU but 3500 ma so I guess you get what you pay for.

If you break it down to the price per Ma it’s almost the exact same price.

What is the maximum brightness of the screen compared to the original 6K?

We are not sure exactly but it is a few hundred Nits difference. Also with the original we would recommend using an external monitor as the built in one doesn’t tilt.

BMPCC 6k G2 have same screen as BMPCC 6k only 6k pro version have brighter screen. don't know why they decided to to upgrade the display of 6k G2 when they upgraded the body.

Is the screen as bright as the 6k Pro or same as the 6k?

I believe this is 500 nits while the 6k pro has a 1500 nits screen

Sorry about the late response. Yes the screen is not as bright as the Pro and when we tested it outside is was a little difficult to see the focus peaking but that is to be expected. Hope that helps and please let us know if you have any other questions.

I have a similar problem with my Sony NEX FS100, The viewfinder they give you is a pain so I constructed a cardboard sun shield. No pretty but great for seeing the screen from a distance. I haven't purchased the Blackmagic camera yet but that's the solution I will probably look at when I do. Hope that helps.

Yes absolutely! Especially paired with the Blackmagic Atem Mini for streaming.

We never use autofocus so we can’t really comment on it but I believe it is pretty good

Yes but as we use mostly manual focus lenses we haven’t played around with it that much!

Cool, I think it would totally work for that application. I’m not sure what type of ceremonies you work at but usually the people aren’t moving around too fast. They should be saving that for the party 🎉😊
