In this video I build an imporovised dwarven foundry, forge type thing using some cheap action figures from the dollar store. Great bit of easy DIY terrain for tabletop gaming.

Dollar stores apparently pick up a whole bunch of strange toys wholesale. You never know what they might get. For this reason, crafters need to pay attention to the stuff that finds its way into their local dollar stores, and pick up things when they have the opportunity.

This is a really fun bit of terrain and very colourful for a setting. My only real critique is the colour of the molten material implies it's either lava or molten aluminum. Iron melts when it is white hot. Remember that colour of a material indicates the amount of heat, not the state of the material. Iron is forged at orange, aluminum is melted at orange.

This is one of my favorite projects you’ve ever done! You’ve definitely put way more work into other things that probably look way better to the trained hobbyist eye, but to me a lay person who aspires to someday have the space/regular gaming sessions to make something like this it’s just so awesome. I love dwarven aesthetic and themed stuff and turning those toys into this piece is so cool to me,

Would love to see dollar store golem laboratory pieces. A small forge for casting metal bits and bobs, a vat for mixing clay, a clear cylindrical tube for growing flesh samples, a block of raw stone, racks of tools (for sewing, stonecarving, metalworking, leatherworking, etc.), and a shelf of parts for various golems. You could easily remove limbs from cheap action figures of varying sizes and paint them to reflect the appropriate golem materials (flesh, clay, stone, metal). Depending on the uses, it could fit a mad alchemist's tower, a wizard college's classroom, or even an assembly line for a bio-mechanical army.

So... they heat up a lot of metal in something above this container, then it pours down from that container into the upper one shown here... and then they pour the now-cooler metal out of that container into an identically-shaped lower one. If it solidifies there, that will be the end of the use of the dwarf statues. If it doesn't, then why didn't they just cut out the middle transfer container, or use its higher location to pour into moulds or the like? I think the cheese hypothesis is strong.

Don't sweat the runes man. You didn't actually write anything. Norse (futhark) runes do not translate directly to the English alphabet despite what numerous people would have you believe by publishing incorrect correspondence information. You can't translate a written language that uses pictograms into English phonetically. It's why so many people end up with tattoos in Asian characters that either don't mean anything or have meanings wildly different than the person was aiming for.
