There shouldn’t be an issue with the blackout eid label the issue should be why the Muslim community has allowed the mistreatment to get so bad that the black Muslims feel the need to segregate and have their own safe spaces

the interviewer is extremely dismissive and interruptive. every time the sister started to speak or when the brother was trying to simply explicate a reasoning, he tries to hit back with the inexistent idea of “crying for help.” just because of the name “black out eid” it is not a goal to exclude every other muslim who is not of a darker skin tone. black out eid is to emphasize that whether or not black people are discriminated against in the general world, within islam, there shouldn’t be even a drop of consideration of skin color before befriending or considering one as your brother/sister. GENERALLY, black muslims do not feel at place nor welcomed in general islamic events. we make up a heavy population of the religion yet if one of the black race wanted to marry or simply befriend a muslim of southeast asian/arab background, they hesitate. why ? because racism within islam is extremely pertinent. some people don’t even want to stand foot-to-foot, shoulder-to-shoulder with you because you are black. even in hajj, where you’re supposed to be in a meditative, holy state, some people find it hard to focus or be at peace because they’re next to a black person, as if black people are lower than. so because of this collective amount of discrimination and prejudice, black muslims have took it upon themselves to create programs, settings and events to project ALL-INCLUSIVENESS within the community/religion.

THE QURAN ON THE NOBILITY OF BLACKNESS. “And when your Lord said to the Angels: I am going to create a mortal of sounding clay, of Black mud fashioned into shape. So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My Spirit, fall down making obeisance to him.” Surah 15, verse 26-29. The Original man was created from black substance altered to become black skin, this and other similar verses makes many Muslims very uncomfortable. Some will quote a Hadith which states that the Angles went about collecting different types of mud to add to the Black mud, hence the reason why we have differences in skin tones etc. They quote this Hadith and try to put it above the Quran, to ease their unease, but Hadith cannot be placed over the Quran. This verse is not allegorical, it’s clear and decisive about what was used to create this man, that he was created complete no mentioning of any other ingredient like other types of mud, anyway as an artist even if you add any other colours to black, they will disappear, so I understand the Hadith in this way and as a metaphor about how the other races came about out of the Black mud. The second tongue in cheek opposition to this verse is where they will quote another verse about the creation of man into nation and tribes in order for us to know ourselves etc. This verse in no way contradicts Surah 15: 26-29, it’s another issue about discrimination based on divisions due to skin tone, family, tribes and nations, it does not contradicts or lessens the original creation from Black mud. Allah in his infinite wisdom knew before hand what will be the plight of black skinned people post Baba Adam (S), he knew that dark skinned persons in every culture in this world will be is despised, so the existence of the verse is not by accident. Adam (S) being created by Allah of Black mud made him Noble, despite the lowliness of that dark putrid mud, the best of Allah’s creation was animated further by the Spirit of Allah being blown into him, and this distinction was transferred to his children also as the Quran states; 17:20, “And we have certainly honored the children of Adam ....and preferred them over much of what we have created, with (definite) preference.” Some Muslims and others will go so far in my estimation to accuse me of racism, or of being too occupied with race which they claim is a societal construct and therefore not real. Non dark skin people have the luxury of say that race is a social construct and not real, they have even convinced our black intellectuals of this, I agree to an extent if we had a better world civilisation and values, sure, but the grim reality of being dark skinned under the current Dominant Culture of the White race is as real as Racism can get. At the level of the genes, a red blooded German and a dark skinned Bantu could be similar, we accept that Science (even with it’s problems) however in this real world what matters is physiognomy, how you look that matters, it determines where you live, how you live, how you receives services, if you would be stopped and search, or shot outright, who you can and cannot marry and numerous other issues, socio-political, economical, and religious. To accept that narrative of race being unreal is to blind Black people, makes them vulnerable, especially the young, who have to be taught how to navigate, how to stand, speak, laugh, every damn natural thing in order to survive in this Current Civilisation. There is no escaping it, even in dark skinned families, tribes and societies the darker ones are objectified as either ugly, low class, violent or morally loose, especially peoples who have been conquered by White Nations or subjected to the Aryan caste system. So in order to understand why this is so, there are two reasons; One, Shaytan’s refusal to bow to Adam, Surah 7:12; “Allah said, “ What prevented you from prostrating (to Adam) when I commanded you?” He (Satan) said, “I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay.” So he was the first racist, so to speak, being a Jinn type, created before man from smokeless fire, he pointed that out to his Creator, as to why he refuse to prostrate to Adam (S) he also announced his and his kind hostility to Adam’s children and how he will proceed in his war. 1- (Shaytan) said, ‘Because you have put me in the wrong, I will surely sit in wait for them on the Straight Path’......7: 16 2- By whispers 7: 20, 20:120, 3- Swearing that he is a sincere advisor, 7:21 So he entices his tribe and followers (34:20, 17:64) against the Children of Adam, especially those who still look like Adam (S) with their dark skin. Quran 7:17- “I will come to them from in front of them and behind them, from their right and from their left,..” The second reason is that: In the past the world was dominated by dark skinned peoples and the White skinned people were subjected, conquered and enslaved, for many reasons they were kept out and seen as troublesome, until Black power declined and White power rose to eventually conquer the world, doing what dark skinned people did to them, they got even and are still doing so, this is my view. Hasan Anyabwile Allah Musta’an.

I completely agree with the panel. The whole thing about being treated fairly or unfairly is important, but it's not the main issue. Even if Muslims didn't have any animosity to a population that isn't Muslim, people tend to live in their own spheres. When some Muslims say that this approach is diving the Muslim community, they already belong to a majority population of Muslims in their own communities. Asking minority Muslim populations to give up their identity, while not interacting at all with their families and communities, is completely backward. No one is creating masjids that are exclusive only to one ethnicity. Islam should be compatible with all cultural identities, and it's important for Black Muslims and converts to see their culture represented.

As a Muslim and someone of the brown race (lol), I have seen a general negative sentiment towards BLACK PEOPLE. Brown people look down upon people who are "browner" than them. It is sad and pathetic that this idea exists. It is pathetic the racist views of some brown culture and communities towards black people. But by Allah, I testify that this is not what the Quran or the prophet teaches. Indeed Bilal ibn Rabah holds the honour of giving the first Adhan (call to prayers) and was chosen by our Prophet (PBUH). I would be crush if I went to an Islamic Event and made feel anything less due to the colour of my skin or looking different.

The panel has no ideal what they are talking about ! Islam do promotes Racism , " I have created you into Nations and Tribes that you may know one another , not to despise each other ." Every group has the right to preserve and perpetuate his or her Race . Racist only mean one who is dedicated and devoted to his or her Race . Base word is race, the suffix ist = one who is qualified , specialized his or her Race as in : Voilin=Volinist Science =Sciencist Or chemist = chemistry . Racism : base word is Race , the suffix ism mean working for the betterment, improvement, upliftingment and the advancement of you Race without hurting, harming or hindering others from making progress. They must study the English language. Because there is no such people as Black people as far as complexion nor is there a such people as White people as far complexion. The only people who has white ( pure ) souls are those of melanated people ( Olive-complexed people )

To Asian people's faces they are somewhat civil and usually stand-offish or distant at functions and events and then online they find every excuse to bash Asian's. To say Asians are more racist than whites is total and utter bullshit. Asians have not remotely done what white people have done with colonialism and current day ruling of the world even today. Some of the people like these lot on the panel, though not all, they want Asian people to be passive weak and never speak up.

This black out Eid is so wrong on many levels. First off if there is some discrimination it’s best to try to settle it behind close doors. If it can’t be handled and if you have to make your own event don’t create an Exclusive label. Third, there is no such thing as “black culture”, there are many peoples who are categorized as “black” here in west but pretty sure their cultures are distinct, a Somali and Afro-Caribbean don’t suddenly share a culture based on skin. This whole thing is silly tbh and it creates divisions for no reason.
@MoeKare45

Black culture does exist when you have your initial culture ripped from you for over a century. Therefore not ever person who identifies as Black has the luxury or having a culture to go back to such a Afro-Carribean, Afro-Latino, African etc. Therefore a culture was established to obtain some sort of culture of their own as they had no reference point. There is nothing wrong with creating safe spaces for different people if the Muslims in the community have not acted as they should as Muslims and be accept of all despite skin color and difference in culture.
