To all comments not understanding why they made such choices, why it was so buggy and the likes... Well here is insight coming from someone who had an internship there. To give context KT is the company behind a lot of the WRC games, which almost all had iffy physics and and car animation, which stemmed from the company's culture. Their goal is to make super crisp AA games with their own engine when they either didn't have the team size, or the required skills. TDUSC was worked on by 150 people for 6-8 years with a reboot between 2018 and 2020 (year in which I had my internship), and too my opinion, they were reaching too far beyond heir reach, which is also a mentality pushed by their long term publisher Nacon who by the way, want to become this AA publisher, but only being a rebrand of Bigben, litered with bad releases ranging from all of Cyanide's games to Gollum passing by KT games which was most probably pushed to compete with Codemasters. Now from my experience, when I came in, I never felt at home, everything felt like you needed to work and your integration only came through your achievements. I never felt helped and looked after. The technical director was my first point of contact and only gave off full of himself vibes, while understandably being overworked. The in house engine is Visual studio created and compiled, and was way far off what I had learned in video game programming school from Unity or Unreal, which contributed to my poor acclimatation to the company. I saw the game in its 2020 iteration, and it was hella bad, it was arguably still in pre production, looking super bad, running atrociously, with minimal interaction and dogshit in house online playests, all the while a super crisp teaser came out for the Nacon showcase video coming in parallel of the first summer game fest. I honestly think there are too many people at KT, working without proper skills for polished, pushed by a greedy publisher, AA releases. My internship ended wihout a contract offer because I was "too rookie with C++ fundamental issues and they didn't have time to coninue my formation as a junior", which was fair because I mainly developped in Unity C# a the time, but also which was not since they did nothing to help me or even point it out when they saw those issues. Now though I own my own development studio so take that info as you wish.

There are no rules in most and when there are rules, they're so lax that corner cutting and using others as brakes isn't punished. I play a lot of racing games and they all have the same issue. Gran Turismo is the only one with a grade system and even that doesn't weed out all of the terrible drivers. Forced PvP sucks, yet they insist on doing it because they think it's something everyone enjoys.

Their main problem is they're trying to "stand out" with this clause...similar to what Turn 10 did with FM and their whole leveling system but atleast somewhere down the line Chris Esaki gave up with that failed dream & is actually attempting to salvage whatever is left. I didn't have a 360 at the time, and I'm ashamed to say this but I used to be a huge IGN fan. I kinda missed out on TDU 2 because of the bugs, and a few years later after all the fixes they did. The 360 online servers were kind of dead before they shut down the servers, I finally got the chance to play the game actually was one of the best experiences I've ever had. Despite playing by myself I truly saw what made this game really special to a lot of people and I became a huge fan. That's the reason why I was excited for solar crown. But now, I just want this series to die And laid to rest.

Yeah… a season pass in a tdu game is the final nail in the coffin for me. Stopped playing after a few hours to wait for updates, but now I’ll just uninstall and probably won’t ever get back to it. I started a new tdu2 playthrough, and the game is just way more fun to me. Tdu is a car ownership and lyfestyle experience. It’s not about the racing, it’s about putting miles on your favorite cars and exploring every road on a massive map. It’s about getting rich and buying the nicest houses to store your most expensive exotics. Racing is just a way to make money, not the main goal of the game. TDUSC devs totally missed the core gameplay.

Even to this day there isn't a single racing game with a huge 1:1 scale map, so much for "They didn't even try". Car handling was shit, story was "meh..." at most, that's it, we all agree on that, but everything else was great.

In all honesty, the game really did need an extra 6months to a year longer to cook… but smaller team on a time constraint doing something that they’ve never done in house before definitely played into the current product. I think it will get better, but it’s going to need that extra year of updates coming along the way.

This will only improve the game on a technical level and a content level. The real chronic issue of this game is that from the start, the vision for an actual TDU game wasn't there, this was never designed faithfully as a TDU game from the pre-production stage. They didn't even think of features as basic and expected as houses during pre-production, and after immense feedback they still don't have them up to release. The core of the game was not TDU, and this game can never become a TDU experience.

You've gotta watch the original video, the translators screwed some of the wording up and Alex showed there's quite a few differences if you read the translations of the French video. Stupid detail but still important. Also, I found a work around for mid race pauses, if you 'pause' then go and select "Options" or whatever its called, it does pause the race. I don't know if it works for PVP races, I'm guessing not but it at least WAS a way to pause a race or time trial. Not sure if it's still available post-patch

This is how this game COULD have been: - You are new to town, build exp - Exp limits the class of the car u get to own and drive - Side missions (Special modified car deliveries, reaching to a destination in a specific time period, more) - Exp earns u the privilege to buy specific houses (differentiating factor could be number of cars u can store, special features like able to access certain cars from all houses, etc.) - When u reach a certain exp, you will have to do a race/time trail to get promoted to the next exp (a difficult one). - Clan vs clan races - Clan group drives, clan group events where apart from racing, you also need to achieve other objectives within the race (E.g.: drift for 100 m while wearing a miniskirt) - Clan rivalry storyline (would have been great since once you finished a storyline of one clan, you could restart playing the game for other clan storyline. Different clan having different set of races. E.g.: Street clan is focused on drift points etc., but Sharps are all about clean no crash driving) - Season Pass gives u special items for your houses and cars instead of miniskirts which u anyways cant see while driving or walking - Season Pass also gives u special exp bonus or a separate leveling system. Still useless imo but better than stickers and miniskirts - Each Season Pass unlocks a special mission after certain pass points (XP) - Season Pass should include free cars but moderately difficult to achieve. - Joined a clan? Congratulations, you are eligible for specific parts or accessories (CAR RELATED, not miniskirts) - No scifi shitshow. Its all about cars, passion for driving and again, cars - Pause races where there are only AI - Game performance dependent on your grown adult hard earned PC rather than servers - Last but not the least, working servers and offline mode - Bonus, proper Nissan GTR taillights (not the distorted one) But yes, TDUSC is all about racing, aint it mate?

I dislike most season passes, not for the content they throw at me, but for trying to stay on my scedule instead of letting me take a break when I want to without being punished. There was one game that allowed people to buy and complete old passes at their leisure, but I don't think that caught on as a practice. Imagine that, giving people more things they will pay for, but instead being more interested in utimising FOMO.

i got the audi unlocked unless the 24 hours bc i aslo wanted the hyper car unlocked and by the time i got the hyper car 10lvls from were i was i only needed like 1-2 more levels i mainly did time trials and other xp things too

Worked out in order to get a £10 million hypercar, earning on average £25k per race if your a casual player like me - will take 400 races! Just for 1 car!!! The car prices are a joke if you’re not a hard core player.

This game just gets worse with every update. Solar Pass is no good to me as i have no interest in PvP. The previous update ruined it for me as they have increased some of the car purchase prices to ridiculous amounts of CR, and now they introduce another level of XP requirements! I have barely played the game now for over 2 weeks as i die inside every time i load it. Just wish i could get a refund
