Trust me they would have recorded with Selena but because of COVID19 Selena filmed in LA and BlackPink in South Korea but Selena bought shares in Serendipity Ice Cream and created a Chocolate-Strawberry Ice Cream for BlackPink. And she's in the movie 'Hotel Transylvania 3' she asked the Director and Producer if they could add BlackPinks 'How You Like That' into the movie and you can hear it in the new trailers. Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga both invited BlackPink to be on their records, But BlackPink invited Selena Gomez as their first American Artist to be in their Music Video.

Thanks. As I understand it they recorded separately because of COVID travel restrictions (either in US or S. Korea or both). I have to agree with you, Lisa commands your attention and that is why many consider her the Queen of Stage Presence in Kpop. This is a clear strategic win for Blackpink as it became their highest charting song in the US. But, they are a watered down version of who they really are in an attempt to attract the Selena/Taylor Swift/Katie Perry/Ariane Grande female audiences. So, not my favorite BP song, but it succeeded in breaking them into the US charts. Hopefully they will be more fully embraced in the US as their bad-ass selves (e.g., DDDD, HYLT, KTL, Boombayah, etc.). BTS has been very successful once they turned more into the pop world (with all-English MVs) and not stayed strictly Korean language rappers. Similarly, BP's efforts to soften their hard edge should work out well for them. But I still prefer the rapper version of BTS (Mic Drop, On), and similarly I prefer the DDDD (take no prisoners) version of BP over their softer more girlish Ice Cream version.
