It’s hard to compare calibres because in Korea general celebs and idols ( which kpop boy bands and girl bands are ) are seen as different types of categories, it’s almost like the west had dozens of boy and girl bands that were in their own sort of league of celebrities. Idols are very popular in Korea but not taken 100% as serious artists by the general public and still mostly seen as liked by teenage girls and boys. But we don’t really have this separation of celebrities here so I would say they’re Cardi B level. Just like her they’re very new to the scene, not the most popular yet but one of the top groups still and make big numbers. One of the members of the group, Jennie, she’s been ranked as the most popular female idol/ the idol with the most influence in Korea for the last few months.
