Amazing. My grandma took me to Blackpool for a week every summer - this year was probably the final year. Watching this evoked the smells of the chips and the doughnuts. Happy days, but we didn't realise quite how happy then. Would love to see more footage of Blackpool around this time.

Some fantastic views in this video! All those rides and attractions so close together! The cable cars, monorail, railway, coasters, eateries and play areas! I would’ve loved to visit back then.

The Revolution is still one of the best rides there. I remember riding it as a kid when it cost 70p a go !!

Great footage of the Speeplechase and the Vekoma/Arrow Shuttle Looper!

How different BPB looked in the past. Lost rides... cable cars , monorail , turnpike , log flume , gravity wheel , space invader , the monster , and the fun house. I'll bet there's more that I've missed . Last time I went, they'd even tried to rebrand it as "Pleasure Beach Resort" or some such. There wasn't as many people there either.

Interesting footage. I like how the park looked back then. More rides. The only downside is more crowds. The place is busy enough now so the fact that it could once get as crowded as the prom as shown in this video is a bit of a bummer

Just wanting more 😅 great footage, love The Monster just before the video tape cut out. Cinema USA i remember being called Cinema 180, you stood up while being taken on rollercoasters and helicopter rides

Hope that more footage of Trauma Towers and the Haunted Hotel will be found one day 💔 love that attraction with my whole soul

@@the_marmaliser I hope so too! Unfortunately I have never found any of Haunted Hotel only photos
@the_marmaliserАй бұрын
@@EuroThemeParkArchivethere's a pov of the Haunted Hotel hidden at the end of a planet coaster video called "the rise and fall of trauma towers planet coaster" on KZbin. I suggest checking it out as the footage is fairly crisp for how old it is

Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the 1986 when anyone could enter free and before the Pepsi Big Max. The rides shown are Steeplechase and Revolution. The Reel went in 1982. I miss the old school amusements that are long gone, Cable Cars, Monorail, Log Flume, Wild Mouse, Octopus, and enjoying the Fun House in my stockingfeet.

Look how busy it is compared to now..

It's busy enough imo now. The crowds back then and in this video would've been hell on earth especially if you hate crowds and just wanna get to the rides
