Omg the Strand Lodge used to be the Homecliffe Hotel , which was owned by ex mum in law I have spent many happy times there when my kids were small , every weekend , Christmas, New Year lots of happy memories 😢😢😢 That is so heartbreaking 😢😢😢

@Johnswindells yes alot happened in Blackpool my brother was brutally attacked on coronation Street Blackpool in September he died I. Hospital two weeks later on his 42nd birthday.😢his death is now recorded as murder 😢

I often stay around the corner at the Wilton International on Dixon Rd mainly because it's about the only place in Blackpool where you can park on the road for free tbh I quite like the area & towards the Gynn pub there are some great food outlets & shops keep up the good work Stephen always enjoy the vids

Who agrees they could watch stevens blackpool footages all day 👍they are better than any soap opera real life footages of what goes on in blackpool✋ and that fire has done alot of damage the whole roof has burnt to a crisp just glad nobody was staying in it at the time but most probably the environmental health will investigate its cause of fire the video the person sent you was a scary footage 😱 the imperial hotel looks grand from the outside 👍 looks great in blackpool and i rekon the council will have to get rid of the building it will be no use to anybody now thats if its owned if nobody owns it or rents it i think the land registry office have to take it over its great your keeping us all updated its interesting to see thanx again steven you need to put your feet up now with a coffee you deserve it all that walking about you do for your fans take care and see you on your next video 👍🗼✋😊🏖️🕊️❤️🏨🏨

A quick google seems to suggest it was up for auction about 15 months ago but Zoopla doesn't show any change in ownership at that time. Not sure if that means it didn't sell or was withdrawn or what.

It's as well the fire didn't start during the storm as it doesn't bear thinking about as nearby buildings at either side could have caught fire too if that had been the case. They may shore it up but maybe the demo people are standing by in case the building is unsafe and needs to be demolished. It's a real shame.

If it's been closed for a while I don't see what the point of refurbishment would be ( a couple of houses down the road from me were very badly damaged by fire around a year ago, the roofs had gone, but they are doing at least one of them up ). I should imagine with that hotel there will be safety concerns leaving it as it is so I guess they'll demolish it. Does anyone actually own it? Be interesting to see what caused the fire though.

I don't live in balckpool but it is very close to my heart. Something definitely needs looking into. Securing derelict properties, security systems and patrols overnight. So many empty that need knocking down but also so many thanks can be re used

Thank you for the great update Steve. I do love it when the the Lake District mountains are in view. And I hope they'll do a good job in repairing the Colonnades and find a way to make them more popular during the day and close them off at night. Yes, they are far too many derelict buildings in Blackpool but unfortunately not enough people have the money or will to bring them up to a modern standard. But it can be done. I saw a very interesting u tube video where a man from down South bought an old Blackpool hotel and it's now a hotel for digital nomads, sorry I can't remember the name of that hotel. But the owner gave great praise at how old buildings can be a very good investment. Xxx

You want to bet that your council paid someone to put a match to it. I only say that because in Chicago, Illinois our local government in the seventies were paying people on the down low too get rid of the buildings that were eyesore’s. That’s one way to get rid of the buildings leagule or not

Alan rosser was shot outside of his garage he was found he later died hospital in november 1999, and the case still remains open and unsolved. Though other statements do mention months earlier, he was kidnapped, beaten, and left on the side of m55 believed to be gangland war, so his murder will probably never be solved .. very sad . Probably demolish it, as repair would be expensive as all the roof trusses and rafters are gone so the gable apexes will not be tied, also if it was abandoned over 2 years who would buy to repair it, last owners will probably get a minimal pay out if it was still insured. Gaz Yorkshire coast.

So that's the name of the actual road that St Paul's Church is on, because it is also on Whitegate Drive. The two posts I saw online gave Whitegate Drive as the address but the address, maybe because it's better known than Honister Avenue. It's a lovely Church but I think it will be too small for the big crowd that will attend on Saturday. May Linda Nolan Rest in Peace, being Irish, I am a bit surprised that her funeral isn't taking place in St John Vianney Catholic Church a short walk from St Paul's Church and a lot bigger. St Paul's Church is a lovely venue for concerts and they also do great food. The garden is full of lovely purple flowers in late spring/early summer. Xxx

My partner was stopped by a police officer in Euston Station London when he was on his way up to Blackpool when his Mother was dieing. Another empty 21 bus at 1:44. A pretty pointless service given the operator regularly varies the service registration as operating anywhere between Fleetwood and St Annes. Last Summer between Fleetwood and North Pier via Cala Gran. Now reverting to the original routeing between Cleveleys and St Annes. I'm unaware on what basis this service is operated. If commercially then the public at least ought to be informed of the timetable so they can use it, and as evidenced, nobody is. If an operating profit is being generated through subsidies then this utterly pointless operation should be investigated.
