This is truly bizarre. It is hard work to put that rubbish over the fence. This is also the result of councils making it difficult for people to get rid of rubbish. Where I live, you simply place a call to the collection office and let them know you will be putting furniture out for collection at the upcoming collection day, and that is it. No extra charge, no fuss.

Not that simple! People do this because it is the culture of the country they came from. ( No trash pick up, no money in the budget for trash removal,) I think the answer is education, (Thank You flawless Cleaning) and community free trash days. Also cans and bottle return should have a monetary value. I live in the U. S, and we also have not concurred this problem.😃

Bexley Council is made up of 2 halves - the haves and the have not and they pour resources into - the haves - they will also blame lack of funds and budget cuts as to way this is allowed. Simple barriers at the top and bottom of the steps would stop large items being dumped but also would an addition to the top of the fence to make it too hard to throw stuff over the fence. It also seems to be a cheap option to paint the steps with anti slip paint than to actually clean the steps but that will not stop someone falling down the stairs because of the wet leaves

I'm a dog walker so see it daily, Im grateful for the council workers and I completely understand their never ending battle with this, they are always having budget cuts and I guess dumped rubbish isn't necessarily their top priority. Here in Iowa, we recycle cans and bottles. We have to pay 5 cents per can and bottles when we purchase them. When finished, we take them to a recycling center and get our money back. I'm sorrowly lacking information about social municipal connections in the UK (I try to learn as much as possible), but I do have a suggestion for you. Ask a neighbouring school for help? Where I live the schools set at least 1 day a year for "community clean up". Then they go along the river bank, through parks et all to pick up debris. Here it is more often wind blown away debris, but per class they easily get a 240 l garbage together. It is done in cooperation with the community (that's where I don't know how it might get done in the UK). Not only do the kids learn about their community and environment, but also the elderly step up their game in helping out the children. I know this, having been a voluntary supervising adult on some of these "excursions". Take care - Europe

Based on the scale of items here it was probably a shady company flytipping after a house clearance. The why behind that is usually to avoid having to pay to dispose of the waste properly at the tip. The larger scale items (bits of sink, sofa, mattress) are all items which tend to have a separate disposal charge on top of the rest of the items which have a bulk fee. Does not excuse it of course, but the reason is usually just trying to get out of paying so they keep more of what clients pay them. Good old fashioned greed. 🙁

Long ago in the states, we had public service announcements from Hooty the Owl asking of everyone, "Give a hoot! Don't pollute!" I believe it really made a difference. Especially in the minds of children. Perhaps we need to bring this message back. We certainly have lost our way here, but all is not lost. Your caring work is so important and so are videos like these. Thank you, guys. Thank you for caring.

They all think it's just a can, or I can't get to the tip, etc., etc.,. The dustbin men aren't allowed to take it? yes they are if you could just break it up and bag it up and put it in your bin. I have pulled people up about their littering, spoiling the area for everyone else who tries to keep things tidy. Ben, Colin and Liam, you amaze me how much work you do, physically and in quantity. Excellent, hopefully people will watch and learn. Those steps looked great. Councils' get some bins installed, and maintained.

I suspect there is a landlord of a property somewhere near the bottom of those stairs, who found a convenient spot to dump all the waste left behind from previous tenants. They take a few weeks, make trips during the night when less noticeable. I agree with a lot of the other comments.... there should be a camera installed at the bottom of those stairs! Although that property seems to be in a "grey" zone, where the Council and the Rail company dispute who is responsible for cleaning. All of you are absolute hero's for the work you do in communities!!! Liam from Southeast Rubbish, bless you for all your hard work and contributions to these projects! ❤❤❤

CLONE?! Why clonw? Why not go out and find volunteers? Especially in Christian parts of society, this is a perfect project, and you could even make it ecumenic, that means including all kinds of denominations:( Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, perhaps even more fringe-type faiths like Rastafarians, or Buddhists)! But try and put a little project together. Then start knocking on those doors/call those numbers. I KNOW, that things will happen, then. Persistance is the key here. Do not give up. 😃👍

I don't know about whom I should be more shocked: At the creatures who simply dumped their garbage there - or at the public authorities who let it happen and never removed it. Some people are really disgusting, what they do to nature! And I also wonder, is it because the garbage charges are too high for some people? Why do people throw it away there? Do people really want to climb the stairs next to a garbage dump? That's also a huge hygienic problem! Dear Ben and Liam! Please always wear a mask! It would be terrible if you inhaled something there that made you seriously ill! You are such good people!!! Thank you so much for your incredible work! BRAVO!!!! 💛💛

Hi Ben, Let me start by saying my partner and I religiously watch your channel every Saturday morning and look forward to you posts. It's a religion in our household here in Australia. But with all your generosity that you happily provide to others I think this is a job you should have not tackled. Why you ask, this is the responsibility of your council and they should be shamed for not cleaning up this mess and trying to address the big picture of why this happens. High council tipping fees etc.. You're a family man with kids and I worried all the way that you would injure yourself with either a needle stick injury or something else, The glass bottle as you highlighted or worse a fall in amongst all that. Please consider your own health and safety!! Self-care has to come first above all your well intentioned efforts to help your community. Also the safety of your family who help out. Councils all around the world have a very good habit of not looking after the needs of their community focusing on other issues that are really not their concerns. Sorry for my rant but I'd rather see a healthy Ben than an ill one. Take care and will see you on the next one.
