Another enjoyable record of your trip...Particularly like your rear facing camera footage!

YoungManGoneWest Thanks for the feedback. It's a good angle but is prone to distortion from the airflow sometimes, bizarrely. It's not as if I'm breaking the sound barrier!!

Hi Andy, just found your channel and enjoyed the trips. Noticed you use your callsign first rather than the unit you're establishing initial contact with (eg 3:54 "G BTNV, Warton Radar.....") Should be the other way round - hope you don't mind me pointing it out. Really enjoy the vids - keep 'em coming :-)

Airlite X You're absolutely right mate. Sometimes the etiquette slips between the A/G, FISI and ATC units. To be honest. It's why I make the videos, to reflect and learn. Thanks for the comments and always appreciated. Andy

Andy Donaldson You're not wrong. It became a low level circuit, about 15 seconds before I was about to declare a Diversion!

Great video Andy. If you can bear to fill me in on your exterior camera set up/mounts, I'd appreciate it. Looking into this myself. All the best.

Andy, just a question. When is Barton going to get a hard runway? Manchester deserves a fine GA airport because London has loads and I believe Manchester deserves one speaking as a southerner. I do find it odd that the Manchester area is not properly sorted for GA. Another fine video and your exemplary RT. All the best.

peanuts2105 Hello. I understand they've had a meeting and will not be getting a hard runway at all. There'll be no lighting on the existing runways due to the proximity of pylons on two of the runways. It's a shame, as a fantastic airport.

peanuts2105 Thanks for the comments on the video though!

Andy Torkington thanks for the response. Sounds like some NIMBYISM is at work here. Some people or officials need to look beyond their little noses and see the potential about Barton. Invest in your airfield because it will attract more aircraft which means more people to spend money in the NW etc, etc, etc.

peanuts2105 Well - since I replied, I've learned of a meeting where the landowner has suggested there are plans on the table (in the future) for a hard runway and the new hangar is to be delivered next week! There are a lot of changes to the road infrastructure in the area at the moment, but it's positive at least! What a difference a few days makes!
