Back in the 1981 I woke up in a hospital bed my head all bandaged up and they told me I was lucky to be alive. Then the guy in the bed next to mine let me listen to his Walkman, with this song as the first. Oh the memories. Ever since that this has been one of my favorite tunes.

Thanks for THIS!!! Me and my Chick, Cindy, saw a new group, Van Halen, open for Sabbath in November of 1978, as I was graciously blessed to see Black Sabbath's, "Never Say Die" tour! Cindy is a distant memory, but Black Sabbath always meant LOVE to me and always will!!!

Looks like Ozzy left the band while starting the album came back later on despite the band had another singer , the band droped the other singer and they ended up rewriting the lyrics

im 4 years late but all black sabbath songs were composed mostly by Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler with help from Bill Ward, Ozzy mostly just came up with vocal lines. He didn't write the lyrics either

I recall being genuinely blown out of my damn chair by this one when I first heard it as a kid. Not my first Sabbath run, but it was so bright and uptempo but still so fucking heavy. The rest of the album holds its own weight fine, but the title track just ran away with the trophy at the starting gun.

A lot of people don't understand what this song is about, but here's how it goes: The 70's were creeping up on the 80's, and things were beginning to change. Some of the older people who were old fashioned started saying that rock was going to die out, but bands like Black Sabbath kept it alive!
