I had a BSA Bantam tank re chromed and painted a few year's ago. Cost me a small fortune it did. So I can imagine the Enfield Tank will be a lot more nowadays. Nice job on the anvil Craig , My surface pate dose the same thing if I don't keep it clean and oiled.

Anvil Repairs on KZbin puts rust killer on then coats the anvils with boiled linseed oil

For the uneducated among us, (Me) . Could you please explain why you sprayed the painted part of the anvil but not the bare steel parts . To my simple mind it should be the other way around .There must be a reason .Thanks craig .

Could be the bare steel is what you use the most so paint come straight off whilst using it.

Because any chips in the paint will put a mirroring impression in the workpiece. It will also come off on the workpiece making it messy.
