I played a tube version of Blackstar's amps. The ISF control is impressive. With the tube amp, I got a great bottom end tone. I play with a powerful bottom end sound. My quest and question is if the distortions are actually metal? Not another muddy or almost great sounding amp. With solid state, I yet have not tried a stereo sounding solid state. Perhaps it might hit my tone goal. \m/

For anyone that owns a Line6 Spider, or is thinking about choosing between Line6 and Blackstar (budget/practice amps), everything everyone says is true, spiders are shite compared to these little amps, the tone comparison is actually fucking ridiculous, its miles better in every way, if you own a spider get rid of it and buy this its only £100. FYI I play metal.

When you say the amp is stereo, I assume you mean it is mono, but has two speakers, since the output from the guitar is mono? If a practice amp sounds great then why is it not a good studio recording amp?
@AlejandroHernandez-qy9wk4 жыл бұрын
Its more about the clarity of the overall sound along, with the projection and volume at which you're recording at depending on your method (direct plug in or miced up). I've played this amp next to my other black star studio tube amp and its a very noticeable difference in clarity and crispness. So at a more professional level this practice amp may not hold up, that being said for practuce, demos and beginners its an awesome little amp. Also important to note that pedals get muddled a little on this small amp.

You should actually check out their software, it's buggy as all hell. Yes, they offer it but between the firmware bricking amps and the non-useable download button through Blackstar Insider, they need to clean up the mess instead of just offering half cooked software. The amp on it's own is definitely worth the money but the extras? Not a good selling point if it doesn't actually work.
