The Musicman and Silverline: an absolutely beautiful clean tone combination! I played a 50W Silverline and Strat yesterday and was blown away by its lush clean tones. Your reviews are terrific!

Thank you! I agree - the cleans on this amp are very realistic. And that music man has surprisingly good clean tones considering it’s higher gain pickups

@@travistwelfthman Congrats! If I had bought that amp at that time, I could have saved myself a lot of $ (went through a 65 Princeton - which was a beautiful sounding amp) and have since replaced it with a Quilter Aviator Cub

Thanks for the review. It was thorough but not overly lengthy. To my ear, the Silverline has nice tones in all settings. It sounds like a good all around amplifier, unlike some of its competitors in this category that have good tones on one end of the gain spectrum and not so good on the other.

Hey Jack, first off you made a great informative video here and your playing was phenomenal. I think the tones you were getting sound really good. I'm shocked because I've watched other videos on this range of amps and wasn't as impressed as I was with yours. With that said this is the first video with this particular stereo deluxe model I've seen. Really well done and informative.

Nice Demo/Review Jack! I thought about getting the Silverline but found they’re is a lot of messing around with the Footswitch during a Live Show. I wound up getting the New Fender Tone Master Twin and I just Love it! I’ve played a lot of Twins in my 56yrs of Performing and it really sounds On!! Of course it’s a modeled Amp but like ant tube Twin each sound a little different from each other. Just add your favorite Overdrive and Effects Pedals (I use only 3) and you’re in business! At 33lbs it’s perfect for me! Thanks man please keep up the Good Work and Cheers from Ohio!

Great honest review. I think this model is over engineered in that at some point it's a let down, in this case recording via USB. I'll just get a 50w simpler model. Lighter for a start.

First, you’re an excellent guitarist. Second, your review and demo was great. I just ordered the 100 watt mono but now I think I should return for the 50. I really only play small clubs and I have a feeling 100 watts will be overkill. Any experience with the 50 watt? Thanks.

I just bought the Sliverline Special and I am stoked - Helix grade models but focus on tubes and tones - not 500 worthless effects. My Fender Deluxe 3 is a MONEY PIT Now that its modded upgraded retubed Im fricken scared to move it anywhere and break something on it and it only has one fricken amp tone This is the company to beat

Informative video, man. I'm currently debating between the Blackstar Silverline Deluxe and the Fender Mustang GTX 100. The Fender provides a crazy amount of variation, much more than the Blackstar. The Blackstar, though, just *feels* (in an auditory sense) more genuine, more satisfying. I'd appreciate your thoughts on the dilemma, if you'd care to provide any. Thanks!

Definitely sounds good at low volumes - since its not an actual tube amp, you don't need anything to warm up for it to sound good.

I've never owned an amp before, been using amp sims pretty much... My brother has a peavey 6505 combo and the realness in tone makes me want to start looking for an amp, I play a lot of heavier stuff but love cleans too so I need that versatility. any suggestions? Would also like great direct out sound
@jamdalf43433 жыл бұрын
How about a Peavey Vypyr VIP 2 to start with? That has a 6505 model on it and more including effects. It's probably better for Metal than a Katana-50watt. Or Peavey VIP 3 / Katana-100watt.
@mattgilbert73473 жыл бұрын
Line 6? Affordable and I believe they have direct out (I'm thinking of the Spider series). Inbuilt effects or you could use an overdrive and/or distortion pedal (like a RAT).

Hi Jack! This was a really nice review! Thank you for that. I am planning on buying a Silverline Special for home practice and rehearsals, but I'm still unsure if there may be a better amp for those situations. Do you have any other suggestions, like maybe the Katana or the Code 100? Cheers
@JackFossett4 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful! Out of the modeling amps I've played and heard, my favorites are the Silverline and the Fender Mustang. The Silverline I think slightly beats the Mustang as far as tone, but the Mustang kills the Silverline in functionality.

Thanks for the review. I’m looking at getting either the 20w or the 50w version as something to take to rehearsals/jam nights with friends. I think it would be more flexible than a Blues Jr or AC15 or similar. I’m just playing a Yamaha THR10c at home mostly and I’m sold on the modellers. I’m wondering if there’s any drawback to getting the 50w with the 12” speaker, other than price. I’d mostly be playing with a drummer but would occasionally whip it out at home when the family is out. The size difference won’t be of any concern but if the 20w sounds better at volumes that won’t break windows that’s a factor. I would also like some good clean headroom. I think with the master volume on top of the preamp gain and power amp volumes I’d just have more volume on tap with the 50w if I ever needed it, but low volume would be just as manageable, with the added benefit of the 12”. There’s plenty of 5w tube amps with 12” speakers, so theoretically that shouldn’t be a barrier. Correct me if I’m wrong... I don’t think I’ll be able to A/B those two models where I live unfortunately, the shop that carries them is out of stock. Maybe that’ll change.
@JackFossett4 жыл бұрын
If you're playing with a drummer, I'd go with the 50 watt. This seemed quieter than a tube amp equivalent from what I found. And yes, I think definitely more versatile for the money than a blues jr or ac15.

Hi Jack, I play in a cover band. Which would you choose The Fender X2 or The Siverline, thanks?
@JackFossett4 жыл бұрын
So I'll be slightly contrarian here and say your best bet is the new Fender Mustang GTX. That being said -- between those two you mentioned, I think one of the higher wattage Silverlines would be a better bet for a band situation. Way more to play with, more versatile footswitch/preset ability, and louder.
