I had a chance to demo this amp recently. I was pleasantly surprised to see them in my local music store so soon. When I heard this 50w amp I almost couldn't believe it actually sounded like a 50w amp. I've played tube amps for years and I was really pleased how this amp sounded. I'm not an amp purist but, I know what I like and hear. although this is a digital amp it does replicate the tube quite good,I couldd hardly tell that it wasn't a tube amp. I think that this is a great offering by Blackstar. Most digital amps tend to miss the tube emulation,but this does not. GREAT WORK BLACKSTAR!!!

Brilliant video, Adam. (I’m from South Wales but living away so good to hear a familiar accent). Although this vid is from a couple of years back, it’s still an outstanding demo of the amp. At first I was thinking I wanted you to keep playing the same licks and sequences so as to make it easier to compare the voicings; but as the demo went on, and the excellence of your playing became apparent, it seemed good that you’d modified your style to suit the nature of the sound in question. You were also one of the first demonstrators I’ve seen to mention at the start that the modelling technology used here is in line with the sophisticated developments of Kemper, Fractal and Line 6. Excellent work. Thank you!

There’s so much good gear around now, something for every taste and budget. If you don’t like these then go buy something else, sound and value are subjective things. From what I’ve seen the silverline series looks good, sounds good and I like the top mounted controls. It’s a modelling amp with built in fx so the fx loop isn’t as important to me, I have other gear for that. As far as price is concerned these aren’t aimed at the Katana type budget amps, and once you acknowledge this they are actually reasonably priced. Like I said at the beginning it’s all subjective, just buy what suits and let the rest of us do the same 🤟

I'm actually getting that amp. Should be here by Wednesday or Thursday. What I like is being able to experiment. With the 6 different tube types. With out actually having to have 6 different Amps. And with the 6 different amp voicings. Try different combo's of the tube & voicings. That one might not normally try. Should be fun 👍......See what crazy tone I can find....lol

I got this amp 50w and i think it sounds great but when I play i get this feeling of hearing the sound from far away with the distortion chanels like if i could hear someone playing in the room next door is there a setting to avoid that? Or is it because its modulation amp.

I have the id 260tvp. So... Should I upgrade to a silverline head deluxe with the cab, or not? And why? I'm very happy with my amp, but the silverline head is so damn cool.

Save your $$$$$ and keep what you have, it's already brilliant ! I'm also a gear whore and when i see new and exciting gear, I'm super tempted to buy it. And then i play and realize my rig sounds awesome, why replace it ? If it ain't broke......... Ultimately it's up to you, dude but if you're perfectly happy with your set-up ?.....

Blackstar has just re-packaged the Blackstar ID TVP series in new housings - How is this any different from the Blackstar ID TVP series ?? on the Blackstar ID TVP series you could never really shut down the noise gate, even though technically you could from the software, but you would still feel that there is a noise gate somewhere in the mix while paying, you could feel that in your fingers.

The ID amp doesn’t have Celestion V type speakers like this one does.

Really good demo. Btw you're describing the UK/US ISF wrong. All the way to the left (anti clockwise) is US and the right (clockwise) is UK!

Honestly it just seems like a re-skinned Blackstar TVP amp. The controls are exactly the same, still no effects loops either.

they upgraded the processor to the same one used in the axe fx which means they rebuilt the sound from scratch, and new celestion v speakers, on paper the old id series can't hold a candle.
@SomeTimeGuitarist5 жыл бұрын
@@mh287 How will a new processor help, processor will only process on programs written by people, if the sensitivity is set wrong for noise gate, it will continue to be wrong, yeah speaker upgrade is a good upgrade by the way, but that is the last in the chain, the problem is with the software written for the Amp.

I have an ID core 10 that i love, one thing that is very irritating about it is that it doesn't stay on your settings when you turn it off, does this do the same ? the panel looks familiar.

The KT66, just like with the ID:TVP series, sound way too dark and dull. Strange, knowing that the JTM-45 had KT-66 and also Jimi's amps. The other sounds are stellar for a non-valve amp. great review by the way.

@@alexgee9412 if you're referring to the line in/emulated out trick then yes you can. The thing to be wary of is both the Standard (20w) and Special (50w) only have 3.5 mm (headphone jack) ins and outs. The larger models are standard jack ins/outs :)
First correction: NOT a "Brand New" line of amp .... a re-vamped ID260 would be the honest way to put it.
