This is the first mainstream lineup of Blackstreet. The lead singer is Chicago R&B singer Dave Hollister. He was known before Blackstreet for singing on early 2Pac hits "Brenda's Got A Baby" & "Keep Ya Head Up." He also has several solo albums after he left Blackstreet. His solo hits include "One Woman Man," "Can't Stay" & "Favorite Girl." He's currently in a supergroup with Donell Jones & Carl Thomas.

A great reaction 😁! Before I Let You Go was released as the third single from Blackstreet's self titled debut album in 1994. It was written by Blackstreet & produced by Teddy Riley. It reached #2 on the R&B chart and #7 on the Hot 100. This song was notable for featuring lead vocals from Dave Hollister (who sang on Tupac's- Brenda's Got A Baby) who had just joined the group. Actor Omar Epps & actress Shari Headley both appeared in the music video as the romantic leads. Omar Epps is from Brooklyn, NY. Blackstreet was created in 1992 by Teddy Riley and originally was comprised of Chauncey Hannibal, Levi Little, Joseph Stonestreet and Teddy Riley. In 1993, the group's first single "Baby Be Mine" was released on the soundtrack to the movie CB4. The song was written by Teddy Riley and Joseph Stonestreet and produced by Teddy Riley. Lead singer Dave Hollister joined the group replacing Joseph Stonestreet before their debut album was released in 1994. In 1996, they released their second album Another Level. It was a breakthrough success due to the top single "No Diggity" (with Dr. Dre), which was a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 1996. In 1998, Blackstreet won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. Another Level eventually went four times platinum in the United States and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard chart. "No Diggity" was later ranked at #91 on Rolling Stone and MTV: 100 Greatest Pop Songs. Blackstreet's Another Level album featured Mark Middleton and Eric Williams in place of Dave Hollister and Levi Little. The success of Another Level landed them a guest appearance on Jay-Z's "The City Is Mine" and they teamed with Mýa and Mase for the hit "Take Me There" from the Rugrats soundtrack. The success of Another Level would also land them a spot on New Edition's 1997 Home Again reunion tour. In 1999, Blackstreet, with another line up change: Terrell Phillips replacing Mark Middleton, had a top ten album with Finally. The first single from the album: "Girlfriend/Boyfriend", was a collaboration with Janet Jackson featuring Ja Rule and Eve. In 2001 Teddy Riley had second thoughts about disbanding Blackstreet after a failed Guy reunion and solo album effort. Teddy Riley patched things up with Chauncey Hannibal. Mark Middleton and Eric Williams returned to the group and they released another album: Level II, in 2003. Dave Hollister appeared on the song Bygones. I'm surprised you didn't say Shari was married to Play from Kid N Play, and Omar was married to the short haired girl from Total (not Pam, but I can't remember if her name is Kima or Keisha).
