I read every B.A. Paris book and I love them. 'Behind Closed Doors' was my comeback to reading after years. The movie was cut badly. Story is full of emotions and there is a lack of close detail shots on the face, pointless shots they could cut out, awful jumpsacres and missed opportunities. 3 camera angles over and over, nothing was... artsy? Like do something with composition, shrapness, reflection, slowmotion? The 360 walk around during argument was cool and light/video coloring was well made so it saved the movie from looking cheap. The main actress feels fake + camera work didn't support her acting. She also looked too good to me. She was super pretty all the time. Nothing was messy to support the situation - good hair, make up and clothes all the time. Any visible tears, red nose, cracking voice? It didn't give me the growing level of insanity, the oblivion I could feel from the book. Movie really doesn't do the justice to the book. Noone made it feel eerie. I heard they are making 3 movies based on books. I was truly excited. I am not sure now :|
