I know in Blade 2 they were somewhat loyal but they were more like some vampiric monstrosity. Even the council couldn't control Deacon Frost. He killed the guy that turned him in the first movie. I think they lose some sense of mortality or humanity, but they aren't intrinsically loyal. They chose who they want to be around.
