Blade Nano S3 - FINALLY DID MY VERY FIRST INVERTED HOVER!

I practiced on RealFlight 9.5s using the Fusion 270 heli. RF 9.5s does not have a model for the Blade Nano S3. Took what I learned to the park and did my very first inverted hover outside of RealFlight!

It's been raining so much here in New England recently that when I stopped into my LHS yesterday I decided to pick one of these up so I could fly inside. I had a blast buzzing around in the house. I haven't flown a Heli for over 15 years (which ended poorly, I never got the hang of it) but with a few minutes to bind and setup I was up in the air and trying to get a feel for the controls. I will definitely be using RealFlight to practice often, but so far, I love this little guy! Thanks for the video!

Awesome! I love flying this Nano heli in the house! I can now do inverted hovers in the living room! Yes, I’ve smashed it against walls and furniture in the process but she is still flying!

I gave up on flying my old Blade CX2 outside. If you sneezed it would blow it out of the sky. Just fly inside with it and try not to sneeze. Your looking good with the shades. Say Hi to your Dad

My dad has an old CX3 with the rescue heli fuse and it still flies! But it won’t fly outside. There is not enough pitch control to fly it in any meaningful way when there’s even a hint of wind. It does fly indoors very nicely. It’s still a cool looking heli!

OMG, I just got a Fusion 270 and it does the tip over! Of course in real life, the blade tips get scrapes, but my wifes finger nail file smoothed them out.

Thanks! I’m really loving helis right now! I’ve gotten better since this video. I have more control now. My next inverted hover video will be on a slightly larger helicopter and work my way up to maybe a 360 size heli! My dad taught me how to hover helis but now I surpassed his skills already!

I agree I'd never touched a helicopter until I get some simulator time. It looked like it dropped a lot of altitude before you were stable inverted.

Hi! Yeah, I purposely dropped it because in the sim, I do the inverted hovers at eye level. Was not comfortable with inverted hovers looking up!

These things never break on soccerfields. The main boards get damaged easily when they crash on concrete though

Are you able to invert it when using the stock transmitter that comes with the RTF model?

I have the BNF version so I don't have the stock tx. But, I'm pretty sure I would be able to invert it on the stock transmitter but it probably wouldn't be as precise as inverting on my NX-8.

HI, can you share your dr/expo settings that you use on the RF sim. Are you just using one setting or a combo of H/M/ and low? I'm having a tough time finding the best setting's. Thanks

Nothing like your first inverted...then other things. Center your collective stick when you flip and you wont barrel roll. It will stay in one place.
