Cool little detail. When K comes into the apartment and you hear Joi for the first time, she says she's getting "cabin fever". Basically subliminal advertisements to K to purchase the eminator (which he already bought). Clearly JOI as a product is working effectively for the company owning it. I love how the movie sets up a whole detailed world just with a fee lines like that. Like you could really believe a product like that being sold and have an idea of what kind of impact that would have on society all just from watching the movie.

lucky u! saw it on the biggest screen in my area, not in Imax though, my jaw hit the floor when Kay held Luv underwater since I love good cinematography and the framing was so amazing! So nice of the Academy Awards finally give Roger Deakins an award for this!

Masterpiece. The Beauty of this film its an extention of the first film. Not just a random pop corn sequel. The opening sequence on the farm was originally sketched in 1980 for Blade Runner. Deckard had a hat in the sketches. Ridley Scott and Producer Micheal Deeley met Harrison Ford in London 1980. He came straight off the Radiers The Lost Ark set costume hat everything. When they saw the hat they both went oh shit 😂

Some, like myself, assume that replicants are some kind of android, but they’re literally 100% biological. They’re basically people that have been “born” fully grown, which is why they’re not seen as human. The issue is that, like Joy, even if they become self aware, it’s entirely possible that they’re MADE to do so.

The real life word would be "synth" or "synthezoid" as In synthetic human. Android implies a proper ai with a metal body no flesh bone, nothing that's even remotely organic. Is there really a difference between chemicals and code?

Is Joi sentient, are replicants human, or is that dog artificial? The answer to all three is it doesn't matter. K loved Joi, K was capable of love, and the dog provided Deckard with companionship.❤

This movie is a Flawless Masterpiece! It's also better than the original film for me, I can re-watch this film all the time and never get bored of it, so much detail went into this film, the cinematography by Roger Deakins is sublime! Nobody does it like he does. The direction, acting, production design, visual effects, sound, story, writing and everything else is just perfection! This is cinema, this is how you make a good film but also make one of the best sequels ever made! It's up there with Aliens, Terminator 2, The Godfather Part 2, The Dark Knight, Die Hard with a Vengeance, The Good the bad and the ugly, Toy Story 3, The Raid 2 and Paddington 2. There is not many sequels that live up to the original film, but these are some that came up to my mind and the sequels that stuck with me, the ones that I can remember instantly because of how good they were!

@@tobiaslundqvist.71 no. I mean that the original blade runner was made by Ridley Scott, who also made the alien franchise. Even tho the two movies are from different studios, Ridley snuck inn a few tidbits linking the two series together. F.eks. Captain Dallas from Aliens(1986) had ‘Tyrell corporation’ listed as a previous employer in his personell file. That is the company that manufactures the synthetics in the blade runner series. And also an extra from the Prometheus (2012) Blu-ray, there was a note from Peter Weyland about how the Tyrell corporation collapsed because the ceo was unoriginal and tried to ‘copy god’

It's just not a masterpiece, but it had a proper amount of distance in time from the original. I thought everything with the original cast was the weakest part (fan service, etc.), but, truly, Jared Leto, as a Bond villain, was really the weakest part(!). All the other actors were great. I personally think Robin Wright should have been the main Blade Runner because she was SO cool as the police captain, and Sylvia Hoeks, was brilliant as the most terrifying assassin in the movie. It was a very strong successor to the first film. Also Deckard's locked-in daughter was a surprise, and felt most like the original book, to me.

I was so pleased that this film was at least attempting to follow in the first one's footsteps, and didn't resort to cheap storytelling tropes. Just like the original, the visuals and the soundtrack are incredible. And while I can understand how someone like Wallace would inflate his own identity to godlike proportions...I always cringe at Jared Leto's performance. XD
