Excited for the story. Love Blade Runner! Great Sci-fi, both movies.

They're not androids. Replicants are bioengineered. Very interesting, though.

Okay, first, Deckard is human. Starting off with that. He was the only one who gets injured in the first movie and nurses his hurts. The eyeshine I attribute to emotions flaring up. Second, I might be lenient to the storyline as long as the atmosphere aligns in the Ridleyverse. Earth is dark, polluted, dropping temps, and basically Skid Row. That was my main worry for 2049. But thankfully, it felt as if returning home. Third, will there be a connecting character from previous works? Gaff bridged the movies. Doc Badger bridged 2049 and Black Lotus. Marlowe was in Black Lotus and the comics. Wallace was in 2049, Black Lotus, and I believe the comics. He can still be in 2099 as a regenerated human as seen in the comics (they did it to Ash.). Speaking of Wallace, any of his chosen "angels" have got to have names starting with the letter "L". Love, Lilly, Lotus. "-El" is a suffix to denote "of God". Wallace would surely twist that to say God would come first. So his favorite Replicants would have names starting with "L". Okay, I've geeked out enough. So hopefully the series will be decent. But, alas, not really holding out for hope. Especially the way Hollyweird has been going lately.

Your geek out was cool to read. Also I agree, I am excited but weary of what producers could do to ruin such an intriguing idea for a show

Deckard is more likely a replicant than not. They eye shine is specific only for Replicants and in the end of the 82 movie it was heavily implied from the other cop who made the paper figures that he had an implanted memories which is why he made a unicorn just like in his dreams. Earlier versions of Replicants that weren't used for heavy labor had a longer lifespan and no superhuman strenght, agility, durability or reflexes.

@@momchilhlebarov289 I, myself, have attributed the eyeshine to intense emotions. Rachel showed attraction to Deckard during the VK test. Leon showed it trying to kill Deckard. Same with Pris. Roy was shining brightly while crushing Tyrell's head. Deckard when he and Racheal was in his apartment. As for the unicorn- Gaff showed his perception of people through his origami. Deckard got a chicken (cowardice). Leon got the matchstick man (hothead). Racheal got the unicorn (rare special). Officer K got the sheep (blind loyalty). Even some in the 1997 video game. Deckard was said to have been a little rusty for the job but subconsciously would have come to the same conclusion that Racheal was rare and special. Hence him dreaming of it rather than outright stating it. But now that you mention it, I am curious as to what happened to the Nexus 1 thru 5 models.

@hua_man that would be interesting to see yeah, but i think that they began with long lifespan and no superhuman stuff. Then went to short lifespan and superhuman attributes. And finally they were able to mix both. That is why Deckard and Rachel are like normal people with only their eyes giving them away.

I’m cautiously excited for this, hope they don’t chase current trends and just destroy the characters and world we love for the lols

My God, people like you are so weird! Chauvinist are such sad, little ❄️s! I swear, you dream of a world where all male actors look like Venice Beach muscle dudes, and all the women bimbofied porn stars! It's just so pathetic...

Blade Runner: DEI Enforcement Unit. Now with even more strong wamans that don't need no man. This stunning and brave re-imagination of the problematic original has been developed for the modern audience. Starring competent girl bosses along with noble knee-grows - science fiction fantasy at its best. If you don't like this series it's because you are toxic and also wassist, and this wasn't made for you.
