Kyle, enjoyed your video Great job. I enjoy keeping up a Craftsman LT2000 I picked up for $150 at an estate sale 6 years ago. I did repaint the deck while changing out the spindles. Added a front bumper in case one of our trees jump out in front of the mower. I am sure saving money cutting my own lawn, my neighbors are paying $75 or more a month for a 1/2 acre. Thanks again for your channel.

That pulley bracket there is suppose to absorb the shock touque load on that pressed thin steel weak built deck on those mowers.It helps the deck drive system so the pulleys don't get pulled and bent, if you hit something as a large ant hill etc,,putting shock load on the belt and pulleys,as they are bolted and mounted on pretty thin deck steel..take that automatic switch under those carbs and grid off the sealing shaft portion and reinstall it and put a manual inline fuel hose carb supply fuel shut off ,those under the carb bowl jet shutoffs are nothing but problems,I do this to all of my mowers and I I've done away with all my fuel supply issues

If you use a 12 in" cresent wrench or 2 you"ll have more contact with both jaws covering more area for controll over vice grips that only grab at the tip. Try it you"ll see what I mean It takes much less effort with the longer lever of handle. Keep it up your coming along great. Whats that saying? OH Get it done. wrench

There is something to be said for your method of painting a deck. The last one I did I stripped all the loose stuff down to bare metal, primed, top coated and three clearcoats. Probably should stay away from using grease on moving components. Works great as a lubricant but also attracts dirt/dust/debris. Dry lube like graphite spray would be better suited for such things. Great video though. I injoyed the close up look at those somewhat of older style decks while on a newer style mower body. Started watching for the paint job though. Was hoping to see this style mower in a different color than red. I have a 2021 model with the hydrostatic trans and I hate the color red. Other than that I do like the mower. Luckily the ones with the hydrostatic trans are built better than those variable speed versions.
@KylebythecreekАй бұрын

The only thing I would have done differently is when painting I would have removed and painted the tension brackets then when putting them back on greased or lubricated them to cut down on future rust.

Hey Kyle, have you ever tried the Spray and Wax on the mowers? I've started using it on my push, and walk behinds I work on, and honestly it's great! It does a fantastic job polishing things up without much work... I just mean instead of using ATF.. probably be less expensive, and less work, since you just spray it on, and... Wipe it off, the water beads off it after.. Just a suggestion, as ATF is also pretty carcinogenic.

Argh! That machine was working perfectly fine with a 40 micron fuel filter and you replaced it with one which will allow a lot more fines into the carb! Saw that and groaned. Many say gravity feed needs the 150 micron. Baloney!

@Kylebythecreek2 күн бұрын
You should time stamp your comments so I can tell what part of the video you are referring to. Assuming you’re talking about 45:45, I decided to go with the red fuel filter because it’s 150 micron filter, which is better suited for gravity fuel systems. The paper filter, which was on the machine when I acquired it, is best suited for a fuel pump fuel system. They actually brought this machine to the shop whenever there was a problem. But most repair shops don’t clean it or do anything more than get it up and running again.
