heavy weapons does that, but smaller one that aren't even "sword" but has a similar function will also parry the bullets (like ellen)

You can deflect the bullets with billy too if you position your attacks in the direction of the bullets.

i just noticed the trigger control of some of the soldiers that are using guns (with a *huge* emphasis on "SOME"). when their teammates are close to them, they fire in bursts as to not hit them. But, when there is no one around them, they just empty the mag hoping to hit the character

I can tell you right now this 100% was inspired by MGRR, especially considering they were likely working on the games fundamental mechanics back when MGRR exploded into popularity. I wouldn’t be surprised if other functions or things were inspired by it too, maybe we’ll even see more things like proper QTEs in the future.
