Benchmade Bailout, a tanto bugout? or truly its own model.

Is the Bailout a better knife than the Bugout and are they really two different knives or just a blade shape change?
The knife does a good job in keeping with what makes the Bugout a great knife while adding its own flair. I personally would prefer a bugout blade in the bailout for the blade shape.
Let me know if you would like to see more of the stop motion intros one of my favorite ones was from the WE Bullit knife.

I think a good comparison knife to the Bailout is Kizer’s Begleiter Titanium. Also a tanto blade though it’s S35VN. Mine is just under 0.020” behind the edge & about 0.025” or so at the front grind. Being hollow ground it’s very slicey. The blade is about 1/8th inch longer and it weighs under three ounces despite its titanium frame. Price is $24 more than the Bailout but it’s on caged bearings so the smooth action is worth that difference to me. I’ve got two Bugouts and several Grips & Minis so I’m not knocking Benchmade by any stretch but both the Bailout & it’s 3V blade didn’t catch my interest.

Id rather have 440c or 8cr13mov from any Chinese manufacturer than 56hrc 3v steel.

The tanto blade and pommel do set it apart as it's own knife, but I honestly thought of it as a tanto Bugout!

Hello, I do have a question about the hardness. It's not totally understandable, but did Benchmade fixed the heat treatment on the newer released Benchmade bailout models? Are they now about 60hrc or still all 56hrc?

To my understanding they are still around the same level. Granted there could be a point swing for variance. I had thought they had adjusted for the aimed but it seems they may not have.

There was a company (maybe usamadeblade? I can’t remember) that was offering a free drop point regrind for bailouts ordered from their site. That’s probably a better solution than switching blades.

I like the Bailout. I'd love it if it was run harder or given a different steel! Hey Benchmade, how about S30V or 154CM, and drop the price $25! Good vid!

I think you've got the most thorough stats for knife reviews on YT. The only thing missing is random hot chicks fumbling to open them. (Watching my GF muck about trying to open my knives is pretty entertaining.) I dig that stop motion.

Bugout is great carry it often. I've bought two Bailouts one for the drop point regrind the pomels have sharp edges so I rounded them over but overall it's a good EDC no problems with the 3v performs great .

Nice that example had a great action, and if you had a extra barrel spacer you could just remove the pommel.

Drop ATCF or Bailout?

I personally would say Bailout, but it depends on your tasks. The blade thickness of the ATCF doesn't cut very well through cardboard media.
