People say that 100 hp is slow. But what they don't realize is that a motorcycle is lighter than a car and doesn't need that much power.
@BladedAngel
@BladedAngel Жыл бұрын
Most bikes are 7-15x lighter than cars (300-600lbs vs. 3000 to 5000lbs) So 100 HP behaves more like 700HP (I know that's not exactly how that works, but w/e) 150HP bikes are fast asf. and 200HP bikes are godly. 300+ is literally a death wish as some others have commented!!

Bladed, as a car/motorcycle guy I agree with you but I got to say is that motorcycles are a different culture. I feel that bikes are also so optimized from factory that is hard to improve bikes with mods aside from comfort mods and aesthetics. Personally I own a stretched CBR600 F4i and get a lot of "why would you stretch a 600cc?". Because it looks cool and is a commuter bike, not trying to break any records here.

If the fumes are so noxious that you’re passing out at stoplights, you have a lot bigger problems than your exhaust. I’ve ridden all sorts of bikes, from stock new stuff to vintage race bikes with honking great megaphones. I’ve never once noticed exhaust fumes while I’m stopped for a short period. It’s a complete non-issue. Even when starting up and letting them warm up, it’s no worse than filling your car up at a gas station.

I want to get a mid-60s Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser that's in rough shape, pull the 330 and use it as a parts engine for my F85's 330 (or if it has the 400, sell the engine for parts if it's thrashed or as a long block if it runs good) and put a tuned 6.0 Vortec in it. Sure, not as big boy powerful as a proper performance LS, but the pre-2007 iron block 5.3 and 6.0 truck LSs respond to tuning and bolt ons pretty decently while staying stone cold reliable. Slap a Holley EFI system on them and be that one guy with a station wagon that's way too powerful for its own good.

And I think one or both of them have an aftermarket exhaust. Actually the drag bike doesn't really have much of anything for an exhaust pipe now that I think of it. ayyy, i actually came here from a Fortnine video lol its all the power to weight! HP don't matter if your weight class is comparable to a dump truck. Love the video, and love the bikes! just about done rebuilding my bike from every bolt down and while this ones factory parts, your giving me bad ideas for my main dirt bike! I've definitely noticed that with bikes its a lot more of "you like bikes? so do i! what's your..." and you learn out of it, a few car people i talk too its more "why would you do__ instead of just___?" sometimes feel more status than pure enjoyment (everyones different but i've seen both lol). The best one i know so far at least near me is the offroad racing scene, we're all just happy to be ridding and help each other out even on the track mid race sometimes. Again amazing stuff, ill be surprised if anyone reads this far XD

The problem with “loud pipes save lives” is that your exhaust noise ricochets off of everything and nobody can actually tell where the source of the noise is. You are just a moving speck in a cloud of obnoxious noises, if anything you’re just making the drivers around you more aggressive with a loud exhaust. Loud pipes don’t save lives, they paint a target on your back.

People who scoff at (comparatively) low HP numbers on low weight vehicles don't consider PWR (Power to Weight Ratio). They also don't consider power gains in percentage. Which admittedly is less of a consistent performance comparison. Using percentages is a good way of gauging performance gains against your own build. PWR comparisons are good to judge between other builds/vehicles. The HP on my turbo miata is 295hp. Stock HP is 140. That's a gain of 110%. My car is fast for a miata, but not fast for a bike. The 2022 Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX has a PWR of .241. My "fast" miata has a PWR of .126. The Ninja has more than double my PWR. It would smoke me. For comparison, a 2016 mustang, with 435hp has a PWR of .116, meaning my miata has more power per weight than the mustang GT, despite the car having more than 100 more HP than I do. The car just weighs 3705lbs. That's 1373 more pounds of mass the engine of the mustang needs to move, compared to my 2332lb circuit tracer. Weight plays a huge role in performance. Far more than the average enthusist gives credit. Your average bike weighs about 500lbs. To edge out my car, the Ninja would only need to make 64.76HP. Those are pitiful numbers for a car, but for a bike, that power will fly past most vehicles on the road. When in doubt, "weight reduction bro"

3400lb on a vette vs a Honda CBR300 which is 350lbs. Even a slower bike is a tenth of the weight as a sports car. So whatever horsepower the bike is, multiply that by around 8 to 10. That’s a good way to relate the power/weight to a car. So a 20hp tiny bike is still just as fast as a Honda civic. Now imagine what a 300hp bike is capable of.

"Forced induction" Me on the way to grab the smallest Garrett ball bearing turbo after a built FZR400 stock displacement motor with aluminum rods and custom pistons, built transmission, billet oil pump and a dry clutch, R6 ITBs, methanol-nitromethane, running on FuelTech for a drag bike: (just joking, maybe not!) Anyway... Older sportbikes have a better fairing system that lends to great liveries. Mostly single panel pieces, no overlapping sections and covered a fair bit of body...and quite frankly, iconic. That's what I'm going to do with mine if fairing panels can be had (it's a Japan-spec '88 FZR400 that the FZR600 was based on, but the 600 got a steel frame) then it might be Macross 7 or Frontier inspired Wheels? Aftermarket wheels on a bike? There's no standard like PCD on car wheels, and most often than not, are unavailable to many models - unless they are spoked and your hubs accomodate all the spokes needed - or companies make them for your ride. Racing wheels might be a good bet if your model is on the list. Older bikes like mine get swaps that takes spacers, a combination of sprockets and bearings for the rear if needed, to machining the wheel and outright swingarm swaps. Front end swaps seem necessary in my case because of someone else's tomfoolery (cut off the caliper mounts, welded them back and grinded off a fork leg to use the smaller 1st gen brake discs), perhaps a resprung 1st gen R1 front end set, and a similar 3 spoke 4.00" wheel for the rear to match widths. Whether a full exhaust is good or not, new bikes are certainly low on my list. A full exhaust on the FZRs or FZs, the VFRs and RVFs, earlier Fireblades, R1s until 2014, old GSX-Rs and Katanas, CBs, XJs and XJRs, V-Max, ZXR Ninjas etc...does sound great. They actually have mufflers that mount rearwards and point towards the back, away from you unlike today's stubby swingarm exit units that cause your stinky experience. About loud save lives...install a good set of two-tone horns. Or two if feeling lucky!

Not at all. I don't have the old ones with those weird metal hooks though that I saw in the tutorial video for it. Mine is more like the Bell Broozer's Style, where it just "Clips/snaps" into the helmet. It feels secure enough for me to even hold the helmet by the Chin Bar and not feel like it's going to fall off. As for the visor, I've yet to ever change it/mess with that region. I have heard strange fitment there for some customers right out the box. I think I got lucky with that. I'm definitely not buying it again, but obv now tha i have it, I'll use it as long as it works for a couple or so years. I love the look and the ECE rating was a plus.

It's a ninja 650, which with the stock pipes has max db level lower than a heated conversation between golf players. I can't hear it at all through my helmet over 40mph. I'm not a motorcycle guy, but I may think about getting myself a motocross bike. However firstly a car, as it's my first dream (found a very interesting pickup, which aren't that common in Europe). And speaking of pickups, have you ever been remotely interested in offroad activities? Not that they're as capable of offroading as SUVs, but I'm just curious.

12:30 could be wrong but pretty sure it's because it's a Harley. I'd bet more people try to race you on the Enfield bc it looks kinda like a modern naked to someone who knows nothing or worst knows very little bit thinks its more.

There is something about RAW charm of motocycles and cars as well Harleys, crosses this on that, volvos, nissan skynline not midded much...like mayby spoiler...bumpers and eventually roof But not widebody crayzy But Just closer to ground I guess it's more important than wide body...widebodys are cool don't get me wrong But bodykkt what serves mainly verticality can be nonless cool

Lol you can't smell the exhaust from deleting the cats on a Harley. The fact you are running a stock exhaust on a semi built motor is robbing you of lots of power, and there are plenty of quiter exhausts if the noise is the issue. They don't make the bike vibrate anymore than the vtwin already does. It's your bike and your money but that's a relatively large waste to do the internal work you did to leave a ton of power on the table.

Bikes are fractions lighter than cars. They will pick up speed much quicker than any car. The only thing not helping enough are the tires. Want faster acceleration? Buy wider curved tires. I mean 12"+ wide with a low angle curve or wider. Additionally if you could have 2 wheels in the back you would have more stability. 2 in the front? Better steering. 2 in the back? Better grip. 4? Now you have a quad. Personally I'd rather have a bike that fits my personality and meets my needs.

Right off the bat - one of the fastest bikes I owned or have ridden, a 650 seca turbo Yamaha. It didn't have the modern day wheel and tire size of a crotch rocket but it was almost as fun and the turbo made up for that ¿`_

The super cub looks better when you Thai spec it with gold bolts gutted pipe with titanium elbow exhaust and a 4valve and upgrade to a 160cc or in Thailand it's 400cc on drag slicks that are thin Bois not thiccc thin because less surface = more speed with a stabilizer bar and custom gauge panel
