I'm not exactly sure what cars made me become a car enthusiast, other than the fact that I was super into Ferraris as a little kid, as well as the Mini Cooper. (seriously I had an entire box of Hot Wheels Mini Coopers.)

For me, the engineering side of cars is the main reason I'm a car enthusiast, I love the variety of shapes, engine layouts and exhaust sound each car makes, Don't get me wrong I do have dream cars like the Apollo IE, lexus LFA, 1969 dodge charger RT/ Daytona HEMI, 1969 fastback mustang, delorean, Nissan silvia S15 and a countach and I'll always aspire to owning these as these are responsible for my enthusiasm but if the only car I end up having is a Honda S2000 and a old land rover, I'll be just as happy.

My top 5 cars that really got me into cars were in no particular order- 1) DeLorean. Back to the Future remains one of my favorite movies ever since my family and I watched it. Although they are not the greatest (functionality wise) I love the doors and that iconic design. 2) 1969 Ford Mustang. Love the old aesthetics of the the 60s and 70s time period of cars. Honestly any of those kinds of cars from 60s to 80s, i adore the style. 3) 1977 Pontiac Trans Am Firebird. God Damn! What a beautiful car. And the name too is just so awesome to me. 4) C7 ZO6 Corvette. My dad and I both absolutely adore Corvettes and it's both of our dream cars. I hope to own one, one day. 5) Dodge Challenger. Fast and Furious is probably what made me love this car, but it's got such a nice frame. I love the skinny hood and the sleekness of it.

It all started with Han's FD RX7 in Fast and Furious 3. When I was younger I thought that was the most beautiful car ever made. Now I think that body kit is a bit too much and prefer the cleaner look of the FD, but it is still my dream car. Second car is the Lamborghini Gallardo. It was my favorite car in NFS: Carbon which is a legendary game to me. Played it all the time with one of the best friends I'll ever have. Third car is the Mazda Furai I played in some video-game. I just LOVED how it looked. Fourth car is the 1970 Dodge Challenger. I used to watch a ton of car restoration and customization shows like West Coast Customs and the Dodge Challenger really caught my eye. Last but not least is the 8th generation Honda Civic Type R and yes I'm from EU so I mean the EU hatchback. People on the internet seem to hate it but I honestly adored the looks of the car ever since I saw it. This is the car that really got me interested in the car community since it was something that I could easily afford, which to me made the community way more in my reach.

1969 C3 Corvette. Our neighbor, who was an absolute gear head, passed of cancer and his wife decided to sell the corvette he built for her to my dad for next to nothing. She was old and as much sentimental value it had, she certainly couldn't stand to have it sit and rot. It was supposed to be a father/son project thing, but life happens and my pops gradually tapered off working on it. But I kept at. I read the garage manual cover to cover, learning how to diagnose stuff, figure out what needed replacing, how to pull things, and going on the internet and studying when I got stuck. That was my foot in the door, and that corvette taught me what was possible with just some basic tools, time, and desire. I'd love to get a G-Series Porsche 911, a Datsun 280Z, or a Chevelle. Fix em' up and build them to my preferences.

The cars that made me a car enthusiasts were: VW Golf GTI: First car I was interested in and obsessed with. Idk why, I was just really inspired when I saw one at the dealership and it just caught my eye. Mazda RX-7 FD3S: From F&F Tokyo drift and Initial D, it made me get interested in the mechanical intricacies of a car and how things work. BMW E30 M3: Still a dream car, I'm still your average BMW fanboy that likes the BMW that everyone likes. I also like drifting and E30 platform used to be used as a drift missle. Koeniggsegg Agera RS: I just liked it as a kid because it's fast and good looking. I also liked how it's not just speed oriented and it can corner well as well. BMW E46 320CI: First and still current car. Owning and fixing this car made me actually enjoy cars as is. Even though it's a shitbox, I enjoy driving it a lot and it just makes me happy. It changed my perception of cars and I realised that actually 170HP is plenty of fun for the road.

To me my 5 cars were 1. The New Edge Mustang. This was my dream car during high school, unfortunately I never owned one during that time because i didnt even get my license until I graduated but I just loved how these looked and honestly I was going through alot during this time and the thought of owning this car always motivated me to keep going even when times were really tough. I was a senior when the covid pandemic first started and i was having some very serious health issues that year. I will always love the new edge Mustang not only for motivating me during this rough patch of my life but for teaching me that dreams do come true. I eventually got one when i was 19 and I adored it. It was a red mustang GT with a saleen bodykit i really miss that car 2. The 1965 Chevrolet El Camino. My bestfriend owned this car in high school and he used to call me in the mornings to go push it because the street sweeper was coming and he didnt want a ticket. Eventually he moved away and had to sell the car so my brother bought it off of him and i would see it every day 3. The 1981 el camino. The first car i ever drove, my family actually owned 2 el caminos at one point but this car was unfortunately stolen from right infront of our house and when we found it, it had been lit on fire. 4. The 2003 Honda Accord V6 Coupe. Listen, i dont care if you own a charger hellcat, a corvette zr1 or a bugatti veyron in your lifetime. THE FUNNEST CAR YOU WILL EVER OWN IS ALWAYS YOUR FIRST CAR, theres nothing like that feeling of freedom when you finally get your first car, no more asking for rides or asking anyone to let you borrow their car. No one can tell you what you can and cant do to your car because its YOURS*. 99.9% of the time your first car is going to be a piece of shit but you learn to love it because its your* piece of shit. Also ill be the first to tell you for your first car this car was more than fast enough (240 hp in a 3,000 coupe is better than you think). I bash this car alot now but at the end of the day ill always appreciate it for what it was. 5. The C5/C6 Corvette. Ever since I was a little boy I loved corvettes, when i first saw one i asked my brother (who isnt really a car guy but does know about cars) what it was and he basically told me “its like a ferrari thats not for rich people” that c6 corvette just looked and sounded so badass i wasnt into cars as a young kid but i was always in love with corvettes. A decade later im now 20 and im shopping for a new car and the C6 with an LS3 corvette is at the top of my wishlist. I didnt go to college i actually got into the trades after high school and that is why ive been able to own some nice cars in the 2 and a half years since i graduated, much like the new edge mustang once was to me, the C6 corvette is currently my motivation to get up in the morning and go to work. I believe that if I will be in one by the end of the year at the rate im currently going.

The cars that I really loved were(still do) if I remember correctly are: 1. Ford GT (I had it in an NFS In Nintendo DS, I remember it being real op, cool looking, and being insane) 2. Pagani Zonda R (Ipad most wanted, It simply looked and sounded exciting) 3. Lexus LFA (JUST PURE AUTOMOTIVE OBSESSION) 4. Ford GT40 (Ford v Ferrari, make me look more into understanding the emotions of a car, and respect the older cars and the massive balls of their builders) 5. Ferrari 288 GTO (A car design that was tailor made for me, made me focus more on the total scenery of cars, see the art in finding the perfect background, the image a car projects, and the emotions like the beginning of the Italian Job (1969), a lambo or ferrari in the italian alps, an old muscle car in a desert road, a Mclaren in the twisted roads of a country side)

Then I learned about the Honda Accord V6 Coupe, and fell in love. I'm 18 and just bought my first car a few weeks ago, a 2017 Accord V6 Coupe with a rebuilt title. It might take some elbow grease, but I love that damn car to DEATH.

My 5 were: BMW E30 in black and E34 in white. The aggressive box look, the smooth engine, and the interior quality and smell was perfect. Was always a treat visiting my parents family friends because I knew I'd see and hear the cars. BMW has been on the mind since VW Golf MK1 - Red. Dad had one when I was born, I still remember the smell and car itself. Also seeing it in pictures is nice. Will always have a place in my heart Peugeot 405 diesel in blue - First diesel experienced and the sound was so different. It just sounded strong and powerful even though now I know it was slow as a snail but as a child it didn't matter. The lines were also boxy so that added to the enjoyment Brian's Skyline 2F2F - first time hearing turbos on a car. I must've played that opening sequence of when you first see the skyline about 500 times just to enjoy the shifts, acceleration. It was music to my ears. Didn't care much for the car but more for the sound aka the engine 🤣. Didn't help that mums side of the family were mechanics so I've been surrounded by all types of cars since childhood. But these cars stand out in my mind to this day and shaped my likes

I found myself in car culture in my childhood, with BMW M3 GTR and Razor's black hot rod styled Mustang, from the famous Need For Speed Most Wanted. When I grown up slowly, i started to know other motorsports like drift etc slowly, (especially drift) in games like Live For Speed, Asetto Corsa, and that was the thing that what pushed me to change my mind to see other cars in the world, there is tons of cars in this world, like you said, and that was the point i dived into JDM world, deeper and deeper, and i learned many cars as much as i dive more deeper, now I'm a JDM classic enthusiast, i love the unknown JDM classics like Mazda Cosmo, Prince Skylines, Mitsubishi Starion and many others as much as well known JDM cars like skyline, rx-7, supra, nsx etc. JDM culture was the reason behind the car knowledge that i have today. And I'm still getting new info and knowledge in every day, learning something new and diving more and more deeper.

On our way, we passed my great grandfathers house, and in his driveway, was a 1940’s Jeep Willy’s with a custom 406 ford blown out to a 426 with a blower and a borla exhaust system. It was a very cool car, the car that got me into cars, and my dream car to this day. The main cars that got me into being a car enthusiast are as followed and why: 1982 Olds Delta 88: It was the first car I helped my dad work on when he was Figure 8 Racing down at the Louisville motor Speedway back in the *EARLY* 2000's. 1989 Ferrari F40 was my introduction into the Supercar world when i was probably 8 or so. I loved the sound of its 2.9 V8ad the overall look of the car. 1994 Chevy Camaro Z/28 didn't inspire my car enthusiasm, but it was my first car i got for a gift back in 2013 for graduating from high school. 1969/1970 Dodge Charger Daytona and the Plymouth Superbird are both my favorite cars of all time (but I'm more of a Daytona person) About 10-11 years ago, I was the Carl Casper Car Show here in Kentucky and I saw a Plum Crazy Plymouth Superbird and the owner noticed me and said, you want to sit in it. And I was stunned that not only did he see me glaring at his car, he even asked me if I wanted to get in the car. It was the best car experience that I could ever ask for. He even let me honk that infamous *MEEP MEEP* horn. Best. Day. Ever!

I become a car enthusiast over... a BMW 318i e36. a bit of a boring car but my dad gifted it to me to take car of until i was old enough to drive. It got sold before it was able to be driven (i was given it when i was 13 and sold it at 14) but I had alot of fun taking care of that care. another car which further pushed me into becoming a car enthusiast is the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X, mainly due to the fact that the amount of technology possessed in one car really pushed how fast rally could become (and also pushed the limit of how many 3 letter acronyms you can have in a car) although I now don't possess a car nor are legal age to drive any, looking on videos and playing games about them is the next best thing I can do. Love this community because of how you can just sit down and exchange knowledge through something which is so simple at it's core

The car that got me into all. this is the C3 Corvette. When i was a kid i saw a top gear episode about a Corvette ( i dont remember what model the episode was about) and i liked it. That night when i sat infront of my old computer i went on and researched the previous models and then i saw it. The most beautiful car my eyes have ever seen. The curves, the V8 under the hood, the sound, it was perfect to me. Thanks to that car I learned about how engines work, transmissions and everything else. Later by the time I learned all about engines i wanted the 1969 model the one with the ZL1 aluminum block, before the first facelift. I still have rolled up posters of it in my room that i sometimes put up.

The 3 cars that made me an enthusiast today (chronological order): 1. Shelby 427 S/C Cobra: I received one as a gift as a 1:18 scale car for one Christmas (I still have it) and from the start, I was a classic American boi. 2. Lamborgini Diablo: This is when I discovered supercars and exotic cars in general, and because I live in Miami, there are some crazy super rich people here. Anyways, I remember around mid-day on our to a family reunion at my uncle's house then I saw this nice, light blue car with one of the sleekest body designs and profiles I had ever seen, and immediately asked my dad in excitement, "What is that!?" He said it in an Italian accent the Lamborgini Diablo. Since then I have been a fan of Lambo's, though less so now because Lamborgini won't stop making variants of the Huracan. 3. Acura/Honda NSX: This was in my high school years when I was starting to appreciate more the JDM and Japaneese cars in general because of how accessible they are, but as soon as I found out there was a radical Honda that was the mid-engine and was RWD, I found that to be insane, especially during my high school year I went to a car meet with my friend (Tuner EVO Miami 2019) and saw the legitimate winning Time Attack 2005 Spoon NSX-R there and was mind blown. Probably the coolest car I have ever encountered.

Man, are you young. I was born in 1981. I saw Group B on TV with dad, and so probably the first of my five is the Audi Quattro, the original 'ur-quattro', not even the Sport, the A1 and A2 LWB models. Even at four or five some part of me understood what astounding things that car was doing. All the other Group B cars were amazing too, but it was the Quattro that I was into. Then I went to the London Motor Show when I was seven, and I saw a couple of other things that rocked my world. The Countach 5000QV was one. Even today nothing has the presence and drama that the Countach does. It's shocking, it's like an act of violence; it really communicates the awesome power of design that cars can inject into life. It's a ridiculous car, like every supercar, but that doesn't detract from it at all, it absolutely embraces and even emphasises its own ridiculousness. A car where the manufacturer-recommended method for reversing is to open the (bonkers) door, sit on the door sill and look over the top of the car to the rear, while driving - this is peak ridiculous and I adore it. The second was the Morgan stand - everything Morgan makes is absolutely beautiful in almost the opposite way of the Countach, the flowing classical lines are peaceful and smooth, and every car is a hand-built project made by true artisans. Owning a Morgan is something for humanists, the car equivalent of Etsy. My dad, an engineer and also a lover of cars who really fed my interest when I was young, told me once that he almost bought a Morgan, but instead got married (to my stepmother). Morgan cars represent cars not really as art but instead as craft, something made by real people with real skill and passion, a link to the history of cars and all the incredible people who made the leaps and breakthroughs that got cars to where they are today. Time went on, '90s and especially '00s car design got really boring and bland for someone who really liked sharp, angular '80s cars, and I drifted away from cars, and got into computers instead. Eventually I ended up in Japan for a year in 2008, where number four came up - the Suzuki Alto Lapin SS. This is a kei car, specifically it's a performance model of a rebodied version of the Alto, Suzuki's most popular Kei hatchback. The Alto Lapin is popular with ladies, and is really a cute vehicle, it reminds me strangely of a tiny version of the Austin Maxi my mother had when I was a kid. The SS model is not particularly fast, although apparently it's tuned for low-end acceleration to optimise it for city driving in tight quarters, perfect for Japan; but the reason I noticed it at all was that it has a completely different look - in keeping with the SS, it looks like a larval version of a muscle car, kind of the caterpillar to a '68 Camaro's butterfly. The difference is amazing, really changes the cute dynamic, and it made me notice how Japan does car design differently from what I knew, and restarted my interest in cars, got me looking at them again and especially the difference in cars between the UK and Japan. In 2013 I got back to Japan, this time for good, and by 2017 I had finished the novel I was writing. I needed a new project, so I started writing a new novel about delivery drivers working for the Japanese underworld, and it got me thinking about what the best car for that would be. Car five is my answer, after a LOT of research: 1993 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo 2. It's really a combination of the other four: a badass rally car, tough and fast and endlessly capable; it looks shockingly aggressive and the sheer visual impact of it is amazing; the craft and history behind it is extremely compelling; and yet it's eminently practical, small enough for Japan and with space for four passengers. And they're legitimately popular in Japan - Lancia made Japan-only special editions. I maintain that this is the final answer to the 'if you could only have one' question, it's just the most fabulous thing; but even more than that, it really made me see how complicated, broad and rich car culture really is. Literally every car, even a rubbish one, is a result of thousands of people's work and passion. Every car is a story.

Taking a side branch here and talking games instead of cars. Despite NFS Underground being the first game I've played that let me make my car unique and personal, I feel Midnight Club 3 gave me that push into becoming a car enthousiast. My favorite cars by that token would be the '70s Charger. Bonus points if it's got a bug catcher. Roll out headlights are a must. Second entry would be the '57 Bel Air, although I would have the wing flares raised in the back. Third entry is the El Camino. I would love to own a ute some day. Moving onto exotic car territory, the Pagani Zonda F Cinque is my 4th entry. I think the air scoop they added on the roof of that car really finishes what they laid out with the Zonda F. The final entry is the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo. Because a company most known for tuning Mustangs made an absolute killer of a car.

I dont really have 5 cars that I can think of that inspired me or pulled me into the car scene, honestly im somewhat new to the car scene. But the 3 that I would attribute to my entry is: 1. Lamborghini (any of them just the manufacturer in general) Had an obsession with them when I was a child and would play Need For Speed for the sole purpose of obtaining all the Lamborghinis possible. Loved their look and their history! 2. Dodge Neon SRT4. When I was a child, I eventually realized I wouldnt be able to afford a Lamborghini, much like your realization that that life wasnt mine. It was charming to me and I loved the way it looked and used to ride my bike by some guys who had 2 of them sitting on their driveway. I adored those cars and envied those guys and honestly they probably had no idea some kid was idolizing them for so long. 3. I would attribute this car as the biggest reason I became a car enthusiast and its the ND Miata. When Mazda first unveiled this car in 2015 I became obsessed! Im honestly glad to say I finally purchased a 2019 Miata RF and am one of the few that can say they own their dream car. It truly lives up to the talk of being a car thats more about the experience of driving than numbers. Sure I do want to modify it to put out more power but its honestly exciting as is.

Here's mine. 1) Jeep Wrangler TJ I just liked how these looked as a kid and it was my favorite hot wheel in my collection. Wanted one as a young high schooler. Never thought about its off road capability though I respect it now, especially owning a 2nd gen Ridgeline. 2) Honda CRX EF As a maturing high schooler I realized even Jeeps were beyond my budget. This started my love for cheap (at the time), fun, reliable cars, and was the Genesis of my Honda fanboying. I'd still like a CRX now in my 30's but the notoriety these get for bring thief magnets still keeps me away. I was never able to afford one and now that I can, I don't have the peace of mind in owning one. 3) Acura NSX-T w/ pop-ups Summit of Honda engineering. You knew this was coming. Saw this in Pulp Fiction in my late teens and it was love at first sight. Now priced WAY out of my budget. Even my brand new "truck" was cheaper. I like the new one too and wouldn't mind owning the 2nd gen but (and I'm sure you all agree) the design and engineering of the original is so striking yet simple, it's such a charming car. It I'd still my absolute dream car today although I've pretty much accepted it as unobtainium. Would still own and DRIVE BECAUSE THATS THE POINT (but also admittedly still be anxious to park it anywhere). 4) Ariel Atom 3 First saw this in Top Gear and was blown away at the supercar performance out of a streat legal kit car. Stays in the Honda family with its K-series engine and its more affordable than the NSX and without a lot of the headaches of the CRX. I could tow it with my midsize pickup, or just drive it on the street. Currently it's my attainable sports car and will be my first ever sports car purchase after buying a house. 🤞 5) 1972 Honda N600 YZF800 swap The Smoking Tire showcased this on KZbin and it is a blast. The absolute pinnacle of modding culture in the automotive world. Is it the fastest? No. Is it practical? No, but it absolutely does bring joy to everyone who sits in the driver seat. That. That is ultimately what I'm looking for. I generally enjoy driving, sure. I earn my money doing it in an 18-wheeler, but Matt screaming and laughing his guts out driving around in a little 50 year old tin can is the experience I'm aspiring to own. Honorable Mention: Pagani Huayra Just a true work of art Porsche Carrera GT/Lexus LFA V10 sounds and it's a shame the 2nd gen NSX never got that treatment 2nd Gen Honda Ridgeline My current ride and while I'm modding it for offroad driving, I just like it because it's mine. It ain't all that special other than that.

I can remember vividly the first vehicle I loved was a '63 VW Beetle. Funnily enough the Herbie movies was the start of me loving cars. After that I started following on various cars and my eyes fell on a C5 Corvette Z06. Every game I played that had it, as soon as I unlocked it I would buy it and only use it. This made me research Corvettes and found out about the others. Corvettes have ever since been my dream car. McLarens hold a special space in my heart as they are my favourite Manufacturer. They've only created one car than I'm not fond of and that's the GT.
