I own one Sugess and one Seestern and I am very impressed with their watches. I think of Sugess as the King of the ST19 movement. After Seagull themselves, they seemed to be the first ones to offer this movement in their watches. I have been very happy with these two brands and am looking forward to what they come out with in the future.

I have the Sugess in blue and it’s quite nice that it’s so dark that it passes for black. I haven’t taken it off and the lume is off the charts. I’ve tested it even against the Steeldive 1970 and it’s brighter. Loving my first experience with a GMT watch and it’s the best watch in my collection. Love the micro adjustable clasp too and use it regularly.

Great review, yet again ! They're both stunning watches, for the price. The Sugess just pips it, though, as I'm a sucker for that "Snow Flake" style of handset. I agree that the hands could be just a touch longer, but it's in no way a deal breaker. Have a good bank holiday weekend !!!

Good review of two good value watches. S.M. prices with tax in E.U. have been constantly climbing, with models over 400 and even 500€. Those prices compete with name brands like Seiko, Orient, Tissot and more. Regards

I loved the Seestern starfish on the crown and the great wave & starfish on the caseback of my 62MAS homage. In contrast, the “S” crown is rather boring, and the sterile caseback is a letdown. Still plan to get the McQueen homage, though. Looks tremendously good. Thanks, Zeb.

The '8' of the '18' on the bezel at 9 o'clock is the wrong way up. I told Seestern, who said that it wasn't, that it was a small thing that wouldn't hurt their sales, and that the originals were also the wrong way up 🤷🤦 Problem is, once you've seen it...

Yeah i checked into this, the original tudor GMT also has the same orientation of the number 8, the Rolex exp 2 has the 8 the correct way round.

@tur radi it doesn't mean any of that, nor do I think it's a screw up by Tudor. It just a design thing. Sugess/seestern just copied it exactly as it was. This is what I'm saying.

Thanks for the review Zee, I do like both of them, difficult to decide between the two, both have a lot going for them. Good to get the information on the bracelets. I've a minimum 8.1" wrist which can expand during the Turkish summer! I imagine I'd find these bracelets to be a little too small.

I was wondering if you know or can remember,when you adjusted the gmt hand could you move it anywhere on the dial or was it a case of it clicks to the next hour marker & if it does,then does it hit the hour markers accurately.Thanks

There seems to be some confusion, the gmt hand does not have to hit the hour markers, only if it's on the hour on the main hour hand. I.e if it's half past or 10 past, the gmt hand will always be a little off to represent this. The way to check alignment is to ensure the hands are all at 12 or something similar. In this case, yes hands were aligned and it's a caller gmt so gmt hand only moves 1 direction in clicks

The font on the Sugess is the killer for me. Stick to the Seestern branding. I almost pulled the trigger on the Seestern GMT but ended up getting the Thorn "Vintage Subby" .

Had this Seestern watch for about 5 days now and let’s just say, I’m a bit confused. When I shake it, you cannot feel the rotor spinning, so I tested the power reserve, it last about 20 hrs then it stops. I feel the QC missed it and they sent me an incomplete movement. Specs and aesthetics I give it a 8/10. The clasp is a bit clunky. Not confident enough to open it and check but I’m suspicious…. To add to your comment about being an NH34, I’m wondering if they purposely took out the rotor to make it fit into the smaller case,🤔

The Sugess looks really impressive, but the brand name on the dial lets it down IMHO. Not only is the font different from the narrative above the 6, I just can't get passed that name!

I bought the Seestern and found out that the automatic winding didn't function. Power reserve 46 hour, but after that it needs a handwinding again, wearing the watch or not. Opened the watch and found a strange looking open metal ring in the back in addition of the rubber sealing ring. Removed that strange ring and found out the automatic winding worked for the first time. Anyone with the same problem / solution?

I own numerous sugess's and seestern's. I can't pull the trigger for a SM due to their insistence on closed case backs, and too few no date watches. And their prices are a bad joke, way too expensive for chinese movements (laughable), and way too few watches with NH movements. No plan to buy a SM anytime soon....

Don't know what you mean, it does tell the accurate time. It matches the inner 24hr bezel. I think alot of people are not reading it right
